The lanterns are very small; About the size of a small can of tonic water. The material is plastic, but durable if handled with care. The lantern takes AAA batteries which is useful as they are widely available. The light is extremely bright and is switched on by pulling the lantern open. The amount of light is controlled by how much the lantern is open; the body acts like a shade. The LED is constant brightness. The metallic handles are useful for hanging the lantern. It may not be built to last, but is good in the short term, especially for the price.

I purchased these for emergencies and when my kitchen lights failed was very glad I had them to hand. They are tidy, strong little lanterns which give a bright light and lightweight so easy to carry or move position. Put 4 stars due to cost and also the fact that each one uses 3 AAA batteries. Appreciate inflation and prices have gone up but I think there is some element of cashing in on fears of power cuts over winter.

One in the loft, one in the boot of the car, one in a lantern hanging up in the garden, and one by the electricity metre. Versatile. Easy to use. Cannot comment on battery life as they are only occasionally used. They are definitely eye-catching and everyone comments on them. At £5 each (time of purchase) they are definitely value for money.

I love these. There is one in every room in case of a power cut, and I've made sure that my 95 year old mother in law has them too, as they are so easy to use and give off a good light. The hands-free design makes them far better than torches, too.

We had one of these as a gift from someone & I wanted more as they are so useful. Very bright light. Batteries last well - we don't use them continuously but use it to see down the garden at night (quite handy when looking for the cat or a stray chicken.). Perfect for camping as you can hang them up. Enough light to get ready for bed/trek to the loo etc. without blinding half the field. Good for children too as you cannot accidentally leave it on. It's either on - BRIGHT light. Or off. No light. Particularly good for the darkest recesses of the shed or attic where all the useful stuff disappears to...

Very nice LED lanterns, small, portable.My main purpose to buy them:1) going to garden/garage at night2) for using a dim light the bathrooms at night, to avoid the bright normal bathroom light (which would wake us up a lot and make it hard to go back to sleep). The beauty of these lanterns is that you can open them just a tiny bit to have a dim light, or gradually open to whatever light level u want. Fully open they are very bright.My mother-in-law liked them so much that I gave 1 to her lol!The folding handles are a good design as well.I've only just started using them, so cant yet comment on battery life or durability.Happy so far.

I liked the price. The light is great and good battery life. I use these instead of my own lights at night saving a small amount on electricity. I would definitely recommend this product for use indoor and outdoor.
