Sturdiest soft crate I've bought...
Update from 29 September 14Positive:The crate still looks brand new; the canvas is every bit as stiff and sturdy-feeling as it did on Day One.Negative (and/or "in the interest of being 100 per cent honest")The crate hath gone unused (largely), for the dogs shun it in favor of squabbling over my lap. When I'm home, anyway (aka most of the time). And I can't trust them alone without crating them in separate and separated wire crates of the same size as this soft one.If I did try to sequester them in this - unattended or no- little sister, aka Houdini, would have chewed her way out in under five minutes. She's gotten very skittish, of late. The good news is that big brother will randomly wander into this crate every so often, usually when he's trying to give his Alpha (which would be moi) the silent treatment after she's corrected him for trying to eat the clean laundry (which he does in order to inform her that he's practically starving, which is the fattest lie that ever was told, btw.)The other negative of a fabric crate is that I don't feel comfortable plopping this item onto a carpeted surface back at the ranch, for we tend to get ants in one particular room there. (The only room that can handle this behemoth. Therefore, I'll be building a flat platform with rolly wheels so the ants will be challenged (ans defeated.). More updates to follow...? perhaps.. :)+++Back to the original review:But I've only bought three others. Two were like those pop-up laundry collectors that department stores sell. If you know what I'm talking about, this Dogit Deluxe is NOT like the alleged laundry crates. This one arrives folded flat, just like those Midwest Stages wire crates. The only difference is that this one comes in a case/bag, so you have to take it out first. (Beware, lots of toggles and zippers and panels and pockets on both bag and crate, so if you're in a relatively dark room, you might grapple with the item for a few minutes (cough). The only other difference (ok, the grappling thing is more a warning than a difference) is the way one assembles this vs the wire crates. In this assembly, you pull up the heavy canvas covering and find two metal tubes that end up arranged end-to-end, and secured with a rubbery grip thing that slides over the butted ends.I have to be very honest, I'm concerned about the longevity of that particular element of the crate, but as it only arrived last night, I can't yet comment about its actual performance over time.Ok, next up... The shape of the doorway. I have a big problem with the doorway, or should I say, the lip built into the frame. Very basically, it prevents the dog or dogs from laying down like Anubis with arms out in front (and outside of the crate) and the other half of the dog inside of the crate.I know what you're thinking. "Um, doesn't your every-day wire crate have something preventing that Anubis thing?"Yes, it surely does. But. The wire crates generally have those plastic trays that break after a month, so the dog could not sit half-inside anyway. Furthermore, the folding wire crates require a support that isn't the bottom of the door itself, or else the door couldn't open. With this Dogit crate, that requirement of support isn't there.Of course, it is what it is, and I am pleased with the product itself, and the quality that may be assessed at this early date. Time will tell whether or not I am pleased with the durability of the product, of course, and of course I shall come back to report on that matter. Is it worth $200 and change? Probably not. Well, not if you think this can replace a wire crate (hah, it sure won't in my case, for I have two rescued border collies with OCD and ADHD), I should say.But for the current purpose (traveling, then supervised sequestering), i suppose it's worth it .. To me, anyway (for there's no way I'm bringing both their wire crates on a semi-road trip!).Oh, if you get this, make sure to get a cushiony crate pad, especially if your babies are big; my baby boy is 45ish lbs and his little sister is five lbs lighter, and without the cushion, they both looked decidedly uncomfortable, as though they could feel the wire bottom through the thin mat provided. One last thing, if the babies are jumpy, especially with things lots taller than they are (my girl is like that, but her big bro is a bit bolder), make sure to let THEM approach IT, instead of trying to toss a treat in there and thinking that'll suffice for their acclimation to the scary blue cavern. As of now, he is fine walking in and out of the Dogit, whereas she is still in the stage where she grabs a treat from in there if she can reach it from outside. (I might just need to post a video of that, it's so cute, lol).Anyway, best wishes to all you humans reading this... And to the dogs that own you :)

Fits my Great Dane for light use only
Bought this as a travel crate for my Great Dane. At that size, the regular metal crate takes two people and an empty room to put together. And storing one of the enormous plastic ones was going to be a pain if we could even get one big enough. But we were expecting to be going to an out of town wedding (only Corona so not happening ) and rather than board him, we thought to get a Airbnb or hotel, but with this to feel better about any possible bad behavior while we were gone —just in case the angle decided to be a devil all of a sudden. So we bought this many months in advance knowing Danes are notorious for being squirrly about new things. It did take a while before he decided it was his to come and go out of as he pleased. He’s been crated one it twice for being too rambunctious while we were having dinner, but he is crate trained and he settled down immediately. If he had not settled down I suspect he could have flipped it over. And any dog that had a mind to would be out of this crate in a minute by clawing and chewing through it. ONLY BUY FOR WELL CRATE TRAINED DOGS WITHOUT SEPARATION ANXIETY ETCIt set up very easily, but we haven’t folded it up yet. It’s really lightweight. I’ve moved it around by myself as big as it is all put together. Just cumbersome because you can’t see around it.Last point, I bought the biggest one, but I think it is a smidge short in the length for my Dane. He will be comfortable enough for a few hours, but I am really picky and I wouldn’t leave him for 8 hours in it. I think it could use like 2 more inches. But he’s a good 32 inches toes to shoulder too. Height doesn’t seem to be a problem and he’s very lean, no issues with width. I’ve included a picture of him standing in it, but he’s too spazy to let me get a photo of him laying in it, which he does voluntarily, so it certainly is not far too small.

Fantasic Soft Crate, fits PERFECTLY in my truck and keeps everything protected!
I just bought a new Dodge Ram Laramie so I could no longer keep my 100lbs extremely furry and nosey pooch in the luggage area like I did in my SUV, where I didn't care what happened back there. Rosie now has to ride in the backseat area, and she drools quite a bit when in a car until she settles down, so the thought of that drool and her nails all over the new seats, the leather backs of the front seats, the door panels etc made me want to cry. So I very seriously thought of making a custom sizes soft-sided crate but I found this beauty when searching for sample photos. Well low and behold, with my daughter in the rear driver side seat in my crew cab, the Dogit Deluxe XL soft crate fits EXACTLY in the remaining 2/3 of the back seat and is exactly the right width for in between the backseat seat backing and the back of the main center console. It's literally MADE for this truck!! So perfect solution. In terms of quality, the construction is great for a dog that won't try to claw out of the screens, which my dog won't do as long as I don't try to leave her in it and leave the room (she can't be crated and left alone, she will destroy even heavy metal cages). But if you have a dog that will claw at the screens, those will probably tear apart in short order. Also note that in the photo you see the large screen side that unzips as a door. The other side only has a small screen window with a flap that can cover it, but there is only that one door on the end and another door on the side. It takes literally 10 seconds to put the crate together or fold it back down, super easy system and it's a metal frame using 3/4 metal tubes. The base is the same material as the sides but with reinforced material in the corners and then there is a wool kind of dog bed at the bottom. So there is no plastic tray or hard bottom to this crate.Love it, saved me hours or making something custom!! I also love that it comes with a bag so I can fold it up, store it and just throw it in the back of the truck when not using it.

in 2018 crate went to the garbage, the front net is destroyed
in 2018 crate went to the garbage, the front net is destroyed, we did not use much but nails cut the net like a butter. Plus sewing at a lot of places was ripped off, zipper we broke in 6 months. Maybe it is all us, but this crate XXL size and we have XXL dogs, I think materials for the front net must be more reliable. Sorry, but very short life period....
