Lily's Story is another charming, heartfelt story in the bestselling Puppy Tales middle grade series by #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Dog's Purpose , W. Bruce Cameron! A rescue dog to the rescue! Lily is the smallest puppy in her litter and the only girl. Her brothers are bigger and stronger and like to push her around. About a rescue dog- don't have to have read other books
This book works as a standalone. You do not have to read the books before it to understand what is going on. (My daughter says it is more fun though to have read the prior books, but you do not have to.) Appropriate reading level for ages 8-12. My 9 year old has been reading this puppy series since she was 8. Occasionally, there will be a word she needs help with or a word that she doesn't know the meaning of. This book is 208 pages long and is followed by discussion questions in the back on pages 209-218. The discussion questions are done by chapter. (Picture included of chapter one's first page of discussion questions.) Update: My daughter says this one is her favorite in the series so far.

Great gift idea
This wonderful author created a book that will be PERFECT to give my 20-something granddaughter as part of an upcoming birthday gift. She has rescued one shelter dog and is fostering another. The dogs are sweet and most fortunate she cares enough to help them so I want to commend her efforts.

We had to buy our own copy after reading this through the library!
My daughter loves animal rescue books to read. Chapter books have been our favorite for bed time. 1-2 chapters a night. She loves that this books are from the dog’s point of view.
