Probably around 1C, so felt perfectly safe. Taste is exactly as I remember (grew up in Cheshire till 30). Not sure about the people complaining about it being too salty? Either locals not used to the taste or they had a bad batch. I used to get this from the UK food store in SF for slightly less ($10 per pack vs. $12.50) but given that I didn't have to do a 2 hour round trip (and they sold out), it's good value for money. No salt/sweet balance. Very much spoils it, and trust me, I'm no slouch when it comes to salty flavours.
