ThriftyVac Mason Jar Vacuum Lids Plus & Pump

This product is a phenomenal invention! - Just place the vac lid on top of the container and suck the air out from the it with the vacuum pump. A free vacuum hose adapter is also available with the order, which you can attach to the port of your electric vacuum machine. Immediately after you place your order, write the seller to send you the vacuum hose adapter if you want to use it with your vacuum machine. - I prefer the manual vacuum pump because it fits into our kitchen drawer and it is always at hand. I recommend that you gently press down the button on the lid before you start pumping. This ensures that the O-ring under the button is snug and seals well. Once you evacuate the air from the container, you can store your salad, fresh fruit and other food items for several days, significantly extending their freshness. I like the convenience of opening the vacuum lid by gently lifting the button in the center. (Other lids without the vacuum button need to be opened with a knife of spoon at the edge of the lid.) The seller was very friendly, and highly cooperative. He went out of his way to develop a new product for us, a vacuum stopper for Traders Point milk bottles, in which we store citrus and green juices. The lid seals well on our Pyrex bowls, and the pump is easy to use and works fine. The only thing I would wish for is a lid size in the 5" range (the mason jar portion of the lid is about 3 1/4" in diameter, while the plastic extender portion is about 7 1/4". So the mason jar part is too small for the 1 and 2-cup Pyrex bowls, and the larger plastic part is really too big and unwieldy. So another lid option at around 5" would be just about perfect.

It can vacuum seal jars! Very useful if there were no electricity... just need to find an open canister that will fit with the larger lid :)

I used the product with storage containers already on hand. Very simple to follow instructions. Used it for Thanksgiving leftovers and they stayed fresh tasting for over a week. Looking forward to using them again to keep the Christmas cookie gifts I am making, fresh until Christmas as well as the left overs again. Great product.

I absolutely love this product! It works exactly as described. Food that is vacuum sealed remains fresher and lasts longer. It was a great price and arrived within a few days! Very satisfied!

Very useful tool. Seals well (it is new) and work as expected. There are more ways to use it - read the nice instruction included. Very well packaged - even the internal packing tapes were the nicer ones that does not leave sticky residues. Great purchase. Highly recommended.

I have 3 of these and have gifted 4. It keeps my leafy greens much much longer. I cut up a fruit salad and it stays fresh all week ready to grab. This works with a glass bowl. On something like Gladware, the vacuum suction will collapse the plastic bowl.

Great product! I can vacuum pack all leftovers with bowls I already have.
