After reading several reviews that said it was small, I ordered up. My daughter is a slim size 8, but tall. I did get the 9-10 and it hits her just above the knee (she's about 50" tall), but is much wider in the bodice than I expected. It will work with the ribbon belt, but we may need to take it in. I think the smaller size would have been uncomfortably short on her. But my older daughter would likely have fit this pattern well (waist/length ratio).I can't speak a lot to quality as all she has done is try it on. I read several have issues with buttons so I hope to reinforce the back buttons prior to her wearing it.

I ordered the size I usually order for my child. It fit her perfectly. It looks nice, like a good quality dress. The colors don't bleed or fade away (washing). I recommend this dress.
