3D Printer Filament-Detection-Module Run-Out Pause Detecting-Monitor Black for 1.75mm

Simple and effective with a couple of nitpicks.
Does it’s job and does it well. One star taken away because of two (minor) gripes -- the little blue led needs to be on the other side of the device. Any reasonable way to mount it on the printer, the light ends up pointing the other way and you cannot see it!- when changing filament you have to wiggle it a bit before it will pass through the microswitch inside. Probably a slightly better design of the plastic guides inside should help. Nothing too terrible though.

Works well, but took some figuring out
I have an Ender 5 with the silent 4.2.7 board running Marlin 2 (hopefully that helps anyone googling with the same issues I had). This switch is wired such that when the filament runs out, it sends a HIGH signal to the signal pin. The plug can be plugged right into the board, but Marlin defaults to expecting a LOW signal with the pullup resistor activated. Change the code so that the signal expected when filament is out is set to HIGH, deactivate the pullup resistor, and activate the pull-down resistor and this switch will work perfectly. I just printed something yesterday in 4 different colors using up several almost empty rolls, so it works great!

Did not function
It arrived with a red/green/black wire, which is suspicious since the listing describes red/white/black, and with no pinout for the sensor available, I had to trust it. Also of note after having studied the picture in the listing, it looks like red/black were backwards as compared to what the sensor was expecting.I wired it up to my Raspi GPIO and got a solid high signal immediately. I tried reversing the poles, got a blue LED and a low signal, but in neither case did the state change when I fed filament through it. Hard to say whether the sensor was bad from the start or if it was bad wiring that caused me to fry it, but in either case I couldn't use it.

False alarms
No better than the creality OEM unit. Literally 1day after my return window was over, I get constant false detections. Save your time and don't bother buying this unit
