Ought to be required reading /learning for all ladies, younger and older.
This continues on in the lessons of sewing, which is becoming a lost art. Bought a set of all three for two of my granddaughters, and will continue the tradition. These books never become outdated.

Not a primary source
This book is not a facsimile or reprint of a historic book. It's a modern re-interpretation of historic sewing techniques. It does appear well-researched, and the techniques are sound, but despite its oldey-timey appearance, it is not an authentic primary source. Those looking to study actual techniques from their chosen historic era would be better off using actual primary source material from that time.
