Gyronax Nunchaku Wooden Golden Handle (Brown)

I loved these nanchucks, but please don't remain under any illusions. These are not meant for beginners. You need a degree of familiarity not to hurt yourself with them. Several basic practice moves are necessary before your hands move them through full swings. Nanchucks are a specialty item and there's a reason you only get them by roaming in brick and mortar sports shops. Please learn & practice the moves that your martial arts instructor teaches you before you begin to enjoy the delicious swing and sway of this seemingly innocent pair of wooden sticks. The seller saved me a lot of time, bother and back and forth by listing these nanchucks online. I decided to buy it on and impulse as I had recently lost my old pair after 16 years of dedicated service. I never thought it would turn out to be a good decision to buy such an item without inspecting it first for the proper weight, balance and heft. Imagine my surprise when the nanchucks came and I re-lived my training on them. These are even better. They are sheesam, golden brown and heavy with the correct weights, swing, balance and heft. One is slightly, very slightly heavier than the other and that is the way it should be. The chain joining the two sticks is a bit rough and the joining bolt will entangle in your clothes if you let it. Its chain is painted and the wood is lacquered well and smooth to the touch though. They make a very nice solid sound even when placed gently on a glass table or a tiled floor. The wood itself is quite heavier than my earlier pair but still within tolerance. The advantage is that the new pair now provides better training and warm ups in the early morning in less time than my earlier ones. However, you need to be extra careful not to apply full force to your swings. They can easily break wrists, palms, elbows and knuckles if you are not extra careful slowing down the impacts before they touch your limbs and body. They are a joy to use once you are fully trained and ready. Overall, these are a nice, smooth, hefty pair of nanchucks. I loved training on them and expect them to last quite a bit more years. Weight of sticks is perfect and finsihing is nice Chain metal seems promising but the chain holding to sticks can be improved to reduce the chances of getting dittach ,becoz most of nunchuks I used having issue with the same

The chain attached to the sticks are not strong. It comes off.

It has good quality wood and metal, it is fairly long, it has adequate amount of weight. Though it has no ball bearings at the metal attatchment, it works really good. Be sure to use it carefully even while practicing as it will hurt a lot if it hits someone.

Being a Bruce Lee admirer I always wanted to learn nunchucks. Finally, got my first pair 20 days ago and I must say that I'm really enjoying it. Few points I feel might help you: -> Go slow. These are wooden nunchucks and can easily break your elbow & wrists if you aren't careful in the beginning. I intentionally bought the wooden ones for my first pair so that I would learn the basics first and not just start swinging it Bruce Lee style. If you feel you aren't that patient, go for the foam ones. -> Practice with a t-shirt on. I suffered a few cuts in the beginning because of the screw pinching my skin. -> The chain color is black, unlike shown in the images but that doesn't really matter. Overall, I feel they're good to start with. Its been 20 days of practicing and I like them. P.S: I'm no expert. This is my first pair of nunchucks.
