Monster High: 13 Wishes is yet another step up in quality for the Monster High film series. I was impressed at how much better the editing and story telling was handled. While Friday Night Frights, Why Do Ghouls Fall In Love and Ghouls Rule are all good movies, they are more of an extended Saturday morning cartoon affair. 13 Wishes improves in all ways, without losing the core of what makes Monster High so enjoyable. Nearly all the guys and ghouls make an appearance in the movie, even if it's just a short cameo. There are also a nice variety of outfits that the ghouls wear throughout the film. The new characters Twyla, Gigi and Wisp are all interesting and likable. The story teaches the importance of appreciating what you have, who you are and the benefits of selflessness. The lessons are taught in an entertaining manner and don't come off like a cheesy Saturday morning special. I am a twenty seven year old male fan of Monster High and I would gladly recommend this movie to any fan of animation. I think it goes without saying that existing fans of Monster High will love this movie, young or old.

It's region 2, so make sure you can play it before you buy it, but if you can, it's good clean fun. And I'm trying to learn Italian, so entertaining exposure to the language as actually spoken is also important. This is a fairly entertaining story and the writing isn't too childish. Watching it isn't painful, which helps. It includes language tracks in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese, with subtitles in English, French and Spanish. Parts made me laugh and parts were almost touching,m which is good, considering that this is an extended doll commercial. Mattel has learned that the ads are more effective if they include legitimate story telling, so the stories are better written than they were in the 1990s television shows. Overall, if you can play region 2 and want a s=decent story for the kids or a diverting bit of language practice, this is a reasonable addition to your collection. I'd like to get more of the series when I can.

I was a teenager when this move originally came out. Monster high was revolutionary back then, and I adored the dolls, video games, and movies. The movie came still in it's plastic packaging and the disk looks great! I had no playback errors and it didn't skip at all. Truly so excited and thankful to add this DVD to my collection again. The price was unbeatable as well.

I purchased this movie for my Goddaughter, and I to watch we're both Monster High doll collectors,, I thought the storyline was very cute, and it kept my attention from beginning to end.. Mattel did a great job introducing the new charactors , I especially liked Twyla, and her raspy voice.. The scenery colors , and costumes were beautiful , catty Noir was absolutely stunning,, I wish Mattel would've showed the entire performance by her,, "side note" -"Mattel make a music video with Noir singing the same song"... My 10 year old Goddaughter was thrilled .. Great job Mattel, keep the adventures coming.

I’m so happy with this purchase! The dvd works great. The middle part of the case arrived broken though, even though it was sealed, but personally, it’s not a really big deal for me.

Super cute movie

We originally got this movie out at the library and my daughter watched it over and over for a couple weeks. I decided she liked it enough that we should buy it. Definitely my 6 year olds favourite monster high movie.

I have two nieces who are Monster High mad and have just under 30 Monster High dolls and playsets at my house for them to play with when they visit along with tons more that I have bought them over the last few years (for at their own homes) and so I am no stranger to the world of Monster High. The movie is all about Howleen wolf finding an ancient lamp which just happens to contain Gigi Grant, the genie of the lamp inside. The finder of the lamp is entitled to 13 wishes and Gigi warns Howleen to use them wisely and not for selfish or dark purposes. Unbeknownst to Howleen and her friends, Gigi has a dark twin called Whisp who wishes to escape the lamp and become a real person like her sister Gigi but Whisp has become evil over time and has nothing but bad intentions planned for Howleen and her friends. Howleen is desperate to be popular like her big sister and Whisp preys on this fragility. If Howleen makes too many wrong or selfish wishes then Whisp will increase control over her and eventually manage to escape the lamp and trap all of her school inside the lamp forever. Working out what is happening, her sister Clawdeen and her friends Frankie, Draculaura, Abbey and Ghoulia set out to rescue Howleen from Whips control. Can the friends triumph over evil and save Howleen and their school?............ A really good Monster High movie which teaches friendship, trust, doing the right thing and adversity over the odds. The film advises it is PEGI7 but my three year old is fascinated with the Monster High girls from watching my nieces with them over the last few years and he has now watched the film a few times. There all mild scary elements in it such as the dung beetle scene and when Whisp is throwing a wobbly but other than that I wouldn't say there was anything really unsuitable in there for a younger viewer unless they are a bit sensitive to monsters. A brilliant film for any Monster High fan and not too bad to have to watch as an adult either! The film runs for approx 1h 10mins and has some bonus features of 3 shorts and a peek at Ever After High which I don't think was out when the film was initially released.
