Great for aquariums
I used it for one of my fishtanks and I love it. I didn’t rinse it when I first added it and the initial cloudiness went away rather quickly. (It was probably only cloudy because I added Fluval stratum underneath and that stuff makes a mess) It’s very easy to clean with the siphon vacuum as it doesn’t trap debris. I used about half a bag for my 29 gallon tank, but the back half is aqua soil with a thin layer of this stand just topping it, so you’d probably need about 3/4 of a bag for a 20 gallon long or a 29 gallon like me.

Recommend for Aqua and Yard scaping
Fantastic and multifunctional! I use pool filter sand for both my aquariums and landscaping. For aquariums it's not dyed so doesn't leech into the water, it's clean (since it's intended for filtration) so I don't lose half the bag to dust/dirt, and it's dense enough the fish can aquascape without the aand getting sucked into a filter. 10/10 recommend. It's also fantastic for filling in holes in the yard, since half of it doesn't wash away for the same reason as above and it doesn't pack down line super fine sand does so water drains through it. Bonus points it's easy to move back when the dog feels like digging and the local lizard population likes to hang out around it; getting warm, grabbing an easy to see bug snack. 10/10 for my yard, too.

Water NOT clear. Good value for online prices.
Like most people here I used in aquarium. I completely don't find it locally where it's supposed to be like $12 so it's not the best value. Yet compared to other sands sold for aquariums, it's still a huge money saver. Mine wasn't crystal clear like most of the reviews here state. It's just inert particulate dust so I don't mind. The dust hasn't settled yet but it has only been 4 hours. I have a lot of sand left over and if I get another tank I will 100% rinse. Cory's seem happy with the grain size. It's standard beige sand. My pygmies hated the previous black galaxy sand color and now I finally see them snoozing on the sand. Does the job. 4.5 stars
