I always used regular toothpaste. Toothpaste is toothpaste. Then one day the Tea Tree Oil toothpaste showed up. I thought, 'What has my wife bought now?' thinking it was a totally unnecessary purchase. But she was very health conscious, and it was common to see new things appear. So, I tried the Tea Tree Oil toothpaste. It was different from anything I had used before. It was fresh (and yes, minty, sort of). I was surprisingly impressed. It felt clean. When I reverted to my old regular toothpaste, the old toothpaste tasted sugary much less satisfying than the Tea Tree Oil toothpaste my wife continued to use. Although the cost of Tea Tree was higher, I fell it was well worth the extra cost when I considered the results. It does leave your mouth and teeth feeling clean. I tend to be thrifty, but when it comes to Tea Tree Oil toothpaste, I will loosen the purse strings. I highly recommend it. It is the only toothpaste I will use. It contains all natural ingredients., reflecting a quality product. I suggest getting one tube to try it out for yourself and make your own assessment. Then, like me, you can stand at the bathroom counter looking at the empty tube and decide if its value is worth the money. Believe me, I stood there for a while, but now, it's a no-brainer. It's a quality purchase.

I got the short end of the stick when it came to dental health genetics. I'm 28 years old & I've had THREE root canals in the last 5 years. Believe me, it is not for lack of personal hygiene! I've been brushing 3 times per day, flossing twice per day & using Listerine Total Care w/ fluoride (in addition to PerioGuard, a Rx mouthwash) for years! However, I've still continuously needed scaling procedures at my (now)quarterly cleanings. I've also had antibiotic powders injected into the pockets of my gums that pre-periodontal disease has provided. How did I stumble upon this product? Well, recently I've read up on raw vegan diets, & have always appreciated 'natural' or 'holistic' remedies for different ailments, where I discovered this alternative product! It just never felt right to me that they always wanted to push more pharmaceuticals into my mouth. There are, after all, people living in third world countries that have never even brushed their teeth that have mouths in better condition than mine. I know this product is not completely 'natural' & may not be up to the standards of the purest of granolas. Yes, there are some chemical ingredients. In my opinion, this is besides the point because I needed a SOLUTION! I've put a lot of hours into caring for my teeth & it wasn't getting me anywhere. I've been thoroughly frustrated that every "new" tube of toothpaste, cleaning gadget, high tech dental floss and Rx mouthwash was one more dead end. Thank goodness I found this toothpaste!! I used it for 1 month before my next cleaning/pre-periodontal maintenance exam. I stopped using my water pik, but continued to floss twice daily. I also began using the fluoride mouthwash only at night (hoping to be able to maintain my teeth & gums like a normal person). Well, my appointment was yesterday, and I'm very happy to announce that IT WORKED!! I didn't require any scaling, I had MUCH less staining than usual, there were no 5mm pockets, no redness, no bleeding, no need for antibiotic powders, no painful sub-gingival scaling or prescription mouthwashes!! And best of all NO out-of-pocket expenses that my insurance won't cover! HOORAY!! I brought the tube with me to show the hygienist, she said she's recommended Tea Tree Oil for patients in the past & saw about 50% with positive results. It's worth the $$ to see if it will work for you. Give it a shot!

For me, I discovered while seeing a dentist in November 2013, that I have Gingivitis (at the time my pockets were 3mm, gums were not bleeding but a somewhat swollen (due to tartar) and a dark pink instead of a light pink color). So for for the last month I have been discovering things that are working wonderfully and are helping my gums greatly. This Desert Essence Natural Tea Tree Oil Toothpaste I use every day and am totally amazed with the improvements on my gums and on my teeth. This product is AMAZING as Tea Tea is so healing for the gums! And I have noticed that my gums are turning more of a healthy pink and my teeth are getting whiter. Also I purchased a pocket probe and it would barely probe into the pockets, so they are shrinking and the gums look much better. This I recommend to you 100 percent because it works and begins working the first time you use it! ***What I also use that has helped improve my gums and my teeth's health: + WaterPik Water Ultra Flosser (helps my gums greatly and easy to use). + Natural Dentist Daily Oral Rinse Peppermint Twist + PLAX Tartar Rinse - This helped me remove old Tartar and began working after 4 days as I both rinse with it for 50 seconds, then I place a small amount in my mouth and pre-brush and then regular brush, makes it more effective at getting the hard tartar off teeth. + Arm & Hammer Spin Brush Soft Bristle (it deep cleans my gums and teeth). + Listerine in Cool Mint (I put a capful of this in the WaterPik) (I rinse with Listerine 3 times per day). + Tea Tree Oil with Dropper (I place a few drops on my gums and massage). Highly recommend this toothpaste to all, it certainly has made my teeth and gums healthier!

Leaves teeth very clean. Took off one star as you cannot read the expiration date on crimp or on the box.
