Good Housekeeping 12 Metal Retro Table Fan, Brushed Nickel

I'm in love with this fan. It's solid and runs so smoothly. The brushed nickel is so clean looking and the quality is fantastic.It's not "whisper" quiet but I'm glad about that because I want some of the white noise to help me sleep. It's also not obnoxiously loud.The slider that turns it on and selects the speed (3 speeds) is really nice.When it's oscillating, the knob spins which is kind of neat. Not that you'll sit around watching it spin but it's just a fun feature.For the price, this is a great fan.The only con is the power cord. I wish it was about a foot longer and white instead of black. The black cord doesn't blend too well against light colored walls and moulding.

The fan came with a need for some assembly, and as I had the requisite skills everything turned out fine and the fan is extremely nice and attractive and quiet and effective. I don't know if all sellers of this van sell a version that requires this assembly but it's something that you should probably contact the seller about.

Since 2010, I have purchased 4 Hunter fans from Amazon and I own 5 in total; however, they are getting very hard to find. The Hunter 90400 12" Metal Fan, Brushed Nickel is what I have come to expect. It is attractive and provides "strong air movement. The motor is quiet and provides a smooth white noise when operating. The metal base has a heavy feel that makes the fan very stable. The on/off switch and 3 speed settings are along the top of the base and simple to operate. I run my fan continuously to provide ongoing re-circulation. On the back near the top is a simple metal loop for balanced picking up or carrying the fan. I clean the blades and wire cage periodically (every 6 months). It is important to clean the fan especially if you notice dust or other build-up on the blades or the back of the cage. However, cleaning this fan is not a quick, light or flimsy task. It's easy to do but does take some time. Using a screwdriver, you remove one screw that locks the cage in place. Then, you unsnap the front 1/2 of the cage. After you have cleaned the blades, the back 1/2 of the cage and the front 1/2 of the cage that you removed, you snap the front 1/2 of the cage back on and then replace the screw to again "lock the cage in place."

I've been so fed up w/plastic fans....bought them because of price. Much of the time the plastic gave out long before the motor did. The plastic used are just not made well enough to be truly durable. And the one i had broke again...that's it I've had it I'm going for an all metal fan like the kind that used to be sold back in the day. Know how happy I Am.....I TOTALLY LOVE MY ALL METAL FAN...!!!! I'VE had it about a week now....i love the slide speed handle at the base which makes it so much easier for me to reach adjust...i have physical restrictions so this is a big plus. I have to have a fan on me pretty much all the time especially when I sleep. It is absolutely Beautiful....Silver is a favorite metal color to-for Me...this polished brushed finish is very attractive....I Am 100% Satisified Happy Content Costumer & absolutely I recommend it to anyone who is as fed up w/plastic fans as I Am....you won't regret it.....and I hope that months from now I can still feel this way....so will try to do a product update to ensure it is not one that runs for as long as the warranty is good. I have a good feeling warranty or not....we are going to be life long pals...!!!

Love this fan. Good quality. I bought one years ago and loved it, so I bought another this year. This one is not as high quality as the last one I bought, but still darn good. The only thing I don't like, is that the fan is too powerful on the lowest setting. It's more powerful than the one I bought years ago. So I wish they'd dial it down a notch. I've never used the #3 setting because it's super powerful - which may be just what some people are looking for. Great fan though - good quality for a good price - not like those horribly plastic things.

This fan replaced a similar, black, table fan from Hunter that was 10 years old. We are shifting to a mid-century modern motif in our new house and this was perfect for the bedroom. It looks great and works well.The fan is very well made - no plastic here. And the oscillating mechanism works smoothly. We use the fan to provide some air flow and white noise at night. For this, I wish the low setting was a little slower and quiter. The switching mechanism is a smooth slider with very subtle clicks into position. I thought it might be broken at first, but that is just how it was designed and actually is nice. I can turn it on and off without a loud 'click' that might disturb my spouse.Overall this metal, retro fan is great... Looks cool and built to last.

This fan earns quite a bit of points just for its looks. It reminds me a lot of the old fans I used to see in local factories. There's a whole other side to this fan. It's very powerful. I use it on low in a 14x12 office. You can feel the breeze anywhere in the room. On medium it starts to be a little overpowering. On high, well, you'll appreciate your paperweights and those extra 10 pounds you put on.I was concerned about cleaning it and will clear up any confusion. It has a screw (one), when you remove it, you can take the cage loose/apart and clean the front cage, back cage, fan blades and motor.I was also worried about how loud it would be. On low, I barely notice it outside of the breeze. On medium, I can hear it, but it's still more a white-noise hum. On high, it tries to be a little rattly. I just can't imagine anyone needing to use it on high. The price was more than I wanted to pay for a desk fan, but I'm really satisfied with it now that I've been able to use it in our hottest spring and summer on record.

I like this fan for both the design and the functionality. It moves the air well, but it does it very quietly, so if you keep the fan on for white noise, this probably won't be loud enough for you.I was a little afraid of putting it together, but the directions made complete sense and I did it right on the first try.

Se ve muy bonito. funciona muy bien. hace mucho ruido por ser de metal si eso te afecta mejor busca uno de plastico. lo abri para limpiar las aspas y volver a ensamblarlo fue todo un reto. muy dificil. en General esta OK, calidad Hunter.

Looks great, worked great... for about 30 days! No longer works. Waste of money.
