Photographer's Guide to the Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS200/TZ200: Getting the Most from Panasonic's Advanced Compact Camera Kindle Edition

Although I've been an amateur photographer for well over 65 years and have owned a dozen or more digital cameras, I always buy one of these guides when I buy a new camera. I tend to scan quickly through the basic photography information, but there are always hints, tips, and shortcuts which come in handy. I download the camera's manual too. The Guide and the manual supplement each other.

I'm still learning how to use the camera. Glad I have the book, but it's slow-going for me at age 90. I couldn't use the online manual well enough, and the youtube demos were not very good beyond the basics.

The little book that comes with the camera tells you little more than how to turn the camera on. The online documentation is better but still far from complete. If you want to take full advantage of all the features on this rather complex camera, I see no option but to get this well written book.

This guide was was invaluable to learning how to use the features on my new camera. This small camera has so many features the little guide that came with it hardly scratched the surface. It's a little bulky for carrying around all of the time but is still a great reference.

This camera is very complex with multiple menus to accomplish most tasks. Even though I'm familiar with the operation of most cameras I would have been lost without this book.

Great book for learning the functions of the complex ZS200 camera. Explains functions in detail where the manufacturers instructions lack.

Excellent book to guide me to use my new camera more sophisticated than I have ever used before

The ZS200 has tons of options and features. So a guide to this camera is very welcome. However, this book, simply put, has too many words and too much repetition. Good technical writing should be well organized, clear, and concise. This book fails in each respect. Further, when I really want to know something, such as what does a "step" mean in relation to focus bracketing, no information is provided. I give this book 3 stars because it meets a need. It is too bad it didn't do a better job.

I seriously considered buying the paper version, but I wanted the book immediately. The problem with the Kindle version is that the table of contents is just one long list of items without organisation in headers, sub-headers, etc. I must have spent half a minute finding Appendix A...Otherwise the book is easy to read with many illustrations and comes across as friendlier and more accessible than Panasonic's manual. You might even consider buying it before the camera because it contains links to reviews that could help with decision making (didn't check them as I have the camera already).Updates, a few days later: I have returned the book because I found the toc too annoying and the book in general more a description of the camera's functions than an actual help for using it. I did not manage to pair the camera with my smartphone... And I have learned that there is a book in German by Frank Späth (for the TZ202, which is the almost identical German version) which is supposed to be very good. That's what I am trying now... Of course, if you don't read German, that's no help to you...

Molto utile in quanto le istruzioni della casa non sono molto chiare. Peccato ci sia solo la versione inglese. Chi non lo conosce?

If you are not a photo expert and want to accelerate the learning curve of using a camera like the TZ202, this is a great book. Much more straightforward than the somehow harsh manual., and also includes basic photography concepts.

I bought the TZ200 as I wanted an all round decent camera I could learn to use and take decent pictures on holiday. The user manual with the camera is pretty hard for a novice to get the basics of the camera, so I looked online for video's or guides to help me. I luckily stumbled across this manual and very glad I have as it explains everything right from the basics. I've got more out of the camera from the first few chapters and I don't think I would have done by the user manual that comes with the camera. It explains everything, such as the right SD cards to buy - so that you can use all of the 4k features, basic auto features so you can get a decent photo out of the box. I'm looking forward to working through the other chapters and highly recommend this book to anyone that has the TZ200.
