Palisades Amusement Park: A Century of Fond Memories

Shoddy rushed print quality
Craptacular. Wow. I could have done better myself with scanned color images.Let me digress by stating that I ordered the book to afford a glimpse at my childhood. What a letdown.I wish I had ordered one of the used hardcover editions manufactured by the Rutgers Press. No doubt the pictures had higher resolution. No, I was sucked in by the new edition having additional pages of photographs. They are images generated by scanning on what appears to be the lowest possible resolution. And they are ALL black and white. My newly printed paperback edition was printed in San Bernadino, CA on August 29, 2016. It was delivered to my home in Arizona two days later. Probably some discount copy shop that makes Office Depot appear luxe by comparison. This book was obviously a saved pc file and editions are printed to order.I know the author needs to make some profit, but dude, really? I could have done better myself. Plus e-books have color images; a Kindle edition would be a better choice.Don't waste your money on this book. I think I'm going to use the pages of my edition to wrap fish. That's about all it's good for; my aspirations of a nice coffee table book to share a segment of life in NJ are decimated. My advice is do a google search for park images. They supersede any included in this sad, pathetic book.

Fantastic! I Love It, Great Quality!
Very well documented book on Palisades Amusement Park. It's very similar to the "Images of America historical books" it's filled with images and facts. I ordered both, this one and the Rutgers printed version but I disliked the Rutgers printed version. The pictures are not as clear and it's not as enjoyable as this one. I'm a visual person so I like more pictures than words and this one certainly did that. It illustrated how everything was back then. If you like, "Images of America" as I do, then you'll also enjoy this book.

A warm rememberence of a magical place
This book would be a welcome trip down memory lane for anyone who knew and loved Palisades Amusement Park and the simpler times the park thrived in. A plainly written, honest account by a man whose life was indelibly imprinted by this magical place; the book contains loads of small black and white photos, many of which look like copies from newspapers, but most are fairly poor reproductions. The two lonely pages of color photos left me longing for more.If you grew up in Northern New Jersey with fond memories of your times at the park; then by all means you will enjoy looking back through the pages of this book.

Good retrospective of the park.
This is a good book for those of us who fondly remember Palisades Amusement Park.Plenty of details about the origin and history of the park. There are plenty of photos but unfortunately they don't reproduce well on the paper stock used for this book - this is the reason I only gave it 4 stars.I passed many a summer day in the pool and at the park back in the 1960s and had a great time.Saw the music shows they gave there too.And nothing I ever ate since can compare to the french fries they served there!

Fun Book.
This product was a fun read but was in a little worse shape than advertised. Not terrible at all, but I would call this “good” condition. Love the book though and am happy to have it.
