Good tool for tethering, especially when on A/C power
Works great when the laptop is on A/C. Doesn't work when my Macbook Pro is running on the battery. But if you add the Rock Solid External Power Bank (or I'm sure any similar external power bank) it works great!

Good idea that falls short
In order to connect the 2 cables to make a 30 foot run, the TetherBoost Power Kit needs to be positioned between the cables (15 feet away from my computer. I own a busy commercial studio and the last thing I need is another power cable on the floor. Don't even think of using it without power attached. If Tether Tools wanted to design a product for professionals, they would have designed a product that could reside at the computer and powered a long USB run. I called Tether Tools and they confirmed that it will not work properly unless it's between the 2 cables. In it's current state, the product is useless. Don't waste your money. Good cables will solve the problem. I will say the Tether Tools cables are excellent.
