This is not included in the conversion kits but should be. Highly recommended getting this for your e-bike conversion. Makes shifting smoother under load.

Do yourself and your drive train a favor and just get it. Install is easy and the security of knowing your gears won't grind to dust is worth it. Only wish it came with the bafang kit out of the box

Adding this to the motor set up made it work so much more smoothly and protects the motor from damage. Our overall experience with BAFANG has been excellent. We've done two bikes now and are really happy with the results.

All the reviews day it's easy to install. It was tough for me. Cable was hard to push thru sensor. Worked great after install.

Simple to install and works like a charm. BBS02 motor and 9-speed rear cassette.

This is great for not having to think while accelerating, not so useful for shifting down. When shifting up under heavy throttle, shift a little late so motor is at a high rpm, sensor cuts power, but coasting motor will complete the shift.

I've converted two trek mountain bikes to Ebikes. I installed this shift sensor on both. The first works about 80% of the time. The second only works about 40% of the time. It is not easy to jailbreak these, there are no screws...they are sealed closed. I noticed my second bike's shift cable had a light bluish teflon-like coating. I scraped that off and the sensor worked a little better for awhile. I'm pretty sure there's still a problem with the spindle, magnet, and/or wheel inside the unit. ....back to jailbreaking.
