Mo Willems has done it again. :)
My husband, my daughter (just turned two years old), and I absolutely LOVE the Elephant and Piggie books. They are our all time favorite set, and we read them every single night before bed time.If you are not familiar with the Elephant and Piggie books, here is what you need to know.1.) Gerald (the elephant) is a boy and Piggie is a girl. They are both hilarious, and you and your child will grow to love them.2.) The text is in speech bubbles throughout all the stories. These are easy reads, with few difficult vocabulary words for even the youngest readers. These are only a few words on most pages. I highly recommend previewing one or more books before purchasing.3.) They are funny. Most books have a clever twist at the end that everyone gets a kick out of.4.) They look terrific as a set. We own all of the books, and they look great lined up on our bookshelf. The book covers are very nice and sturdy. These are actually the ONLY books we've ever purchased new (all others were gifts or thrift store finds. We are penny pinchers, but these books are WORTH the dollars as they are terrific and look awesome). If you ARE familiar with the books, here's what you need to know about THIS book.1.) It's hilarious. The first time I read to my toddler (and the subsequent second through seventh time immediately after), she couldn't catch her breath she was laughing so hard at Piggy's "SNORE!!!"2.) Only Piggie and Elephant (and two pages of talking stuffed animals) appear in this book. No Dr. Cat, Brian Bat, etc.3.) **SPOILER** -- The twist in this book is it ends up all being a dream. It's VERY funny, but a bit advanced for my extremely articulate two year old. I'm not entirely sure she grasps the concept of a dream yet. She did a lot of asking why and how Piggie's head turned into a turnip, and my explanations were poor in her mind. I'm sure she will understand soon as she just turned two, but it was a twist I didn't expect.Bottom line -BUY ALL THE ELEPHANT AND PIGGIE BOOKS!

Our Whole Family Loves These Books!
Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems are hilarious! My five-year-old twins talked about reading them in school so I decided we should look at getting some. We originally started with the Pigeon books and loved those so we wanted to add these to our home library too. After borrowing all of them from our library, we had to get our own so we could read them whenever we want!I Will Take a Nap! by Mo Willems is a great part of the Elephant and Piggie series. Gerald, the elephant decides he will take a nap because he's tired and cranky. Will Piggie let him sleep or will she wake him up? Guess you better read it to find out!Like all Elephant and Piggie books, this one is 57 pages long but takes about five minutes to read since there are only a few words on each page. It's a nice hardcover with thick paperback pages, colorful and hilarious illustrations, and simple enough words for beginning readers to understand. My kids are learning to read using these books and the repetition of words has been very helpful! You really can't go wrong with an Elephant and Piggie book. We own all of the books in this series and they are a worthwhile investment for us. Our four-year-old nephew has some of them and he loves them too! These books are good for both boys and girls and they are popular in schools. Just buy them. You won't regret it!

Great for early readers!
Both of my daughters love the Elephant and Piggie series, even though the older one has since outgrown them. Now the younger one is enjoying them. They're great, fun stories and not too long for early readers.

My Son LOVES these Books!!
My Son was given a Mo Williams book for his 3rd birthday.. He loved it..and laughed at the facial expressions that Elephant would make. I bought him more books, and he loves each one. My son just turned 6 these Mo Williams books are still his favorite books. Always asks me to read them to him. Still cracks up each time. They are very well written and very cute stories. The pictures are very clear and cute. Especially Elephant's expressions and what he says, makes my son laugh every time. Im using these books now to help him read, and he is reading well each time.Highly Recommend these books.. All of them.. :)
