Sony - FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM Wide-angle Zoom Lens (SEL1635GM) (Renewed)

I'm thankful I could find this lens as used because I saved a lot of money. This is the second used lens I bought from Amazon and have been using both for the past month with zero issues. The other lens came in original packaging and appears untouched. This lens on the other hand came in a generic box with bubble rap. It seems to be the luck of the draw as to what kind of packaging it comes in. But that is completely fine. Don't let this deter you. This lens did come with some very light buff marks, but over the past month, those have been replaced by my buff marks. They are super light and you'd have to put your cheater glasses on to see them... just normal wear and tear. If you are on the fence about buying camera equipment used, go for it!

I purchased this lens renewed. The copy I received is, as best I can tell, new and never before used. However, my copy is a grey market variant, originally manufactured and packaged for the Chinese market (photos attached). My understanding of how warranties in other markets work means that I will not be able to have Sony service this lens if servicing is needed. I would have preferred to have known that this is a grey market lens ahead of time. I read and watched plenty of reviews of this lens and I agree with the majority of them. On the A74, focusing speed is surprisingly fast and images are tack-sharp. It’s expensive, but the renewed price somewhat mitigates that. I’m happy with what I received, but I do worry that if something goes wrong it’s going to be a paper weight.

I purchased this product and the lens was blurry and was stuck at the 20mm . I had to send it in to be serviced. Terrible experience

This lens broke on me 2 times in 4 years. I Use(d) it almost every day as a RE photographer. Today it just stopped working in the middle of a photo shoot. Just like that. It happened once before , got it repaired, and here we go again. When it works it's good but I am spooked now, looking for orher options.
