I decent competitor
Im not being coerced to leave this review....I bought this circulator because I recently bought the Joule which is small but WAAY too loud. I was looking for something similar in size but quieter. The Rodoni circulator advertises itself as whisper quiet and upon arrival I noticed it uses the same propeller design of larger, quieter circulators. Unfortunately the Rodoni is just as loud as the Joule. It's a lower frequency hum so its slightly less annoying than the Joule but still a deal breaker for me. Looks like Im going to have to stick with the standard, large sized circulators. If you're simply looking for an inexpensive circulator thats smaller in size than others on the market and dont care about noise, look no further! This circulator appears well built and heats water just as fast as the Joule or Kitchen Boss. There are some tiny stainless steel screws holding the base cover in place. Those will probably rust out at some point but even with the base removed it still works fine and for $65 can you really complain?Operation is simple...Long press the power button to turn on/off. Single press the settings button to cycle between temp/time. Single press power button the begin or stop the circulator. Thats pretty much it.Circulators I've tried so far...Kitchen Boss:Completely silent / touch buttons arent as responsive as id like / bracket is clunky and takes forever to affixJoule:Smallest size on the market / Being forced to use the app is rediculous especially since the app is buggy and doesn't operate as advertised anyway Annoyingly loud with a higher pitched him that slowly increases your desire to murder someone.Rodoni:2nd best formfactor on the market / slightly quieter than the Joule but still annoyingly loud / Touch buttons are very responsive and a pleasure to use / Sleeve covering heating element is not removable making cleaning difficult if not impossible.

It was quiet at first
It is not as quiet as they advertise. But then again, this is the first Sous Vide machine I have owned so I have nothing to compare it to. When I first received the machine and used it, it was dead quiet. Now... not so much. Don't get me wrong. It is not as if it is rattling the house down. It is just not as quiet as it was at first. As far as how it works... I did one cook that took approximately 18 hours and this machine held up just fine, and maintained temperature just fine. Compared to other higher priced SV machines, this one does just fine for me.10/11/2020 Here it is nearly a year later, and after numerous times used it is still plugging along. For all of the individuals that are saying that it doesn't work... I will admit the interface is rather cumbersome. It makes it difficult to program times and temps. However it still works. And yes, it is still a tad noisy. During this past year I have learned better and different ways of securing it to my water containers. This helps mitigate the vibration and rattling to an extent. Other than these small drawbacks, I am still completely satisfied with my purchase.

Beware House Fire!!!!!
Worked fine for an year, until it literally caught on fire. Seems to be due to faulty temp sensor. Used for warming water for bath two days a week. Very Dangerous, Luckily the fire was immediately put out by dunking red-hot element in water(after pulling the plug). Company is nowhere to be found to honor the two year warranty.

It's a gem.
I purchased this to get me by while I waited for a more expensive machine to arrive. It's perfect. Small, efficient and absolutely silent. I have to look very closely to see if it's actually running. I usually set the timer to 48 hours and just change the temperature based on whatever I'm cooking. It remembers the settings after it has been unplugged.I've used it at low temperatures and high and it has no problem maintaining the temperature even in larger tanks. The temperature can drop a bit (.5°C) so take that into account. It would be nice to have all the bells and whistles but expensive. So one or two of these in the drawer is not a bad idea.

Was amazing. Stopped working after 19 months
I would use this product about once a week. Sometimes for long cooks, sometimes for quick steaks. It worked really well and I've cooked some of the best steaks in my life. It was difficult to get the hang of the menu system at first, but it worked well once I got used to it.Lost a star because after 19 months, and probably a little under 100 cooks, it has stopped working. No longer recirculating and the temp dropping.

Solid cooker and a new way to prepare meet
I’ve been doing research on vacuum cooking and Sous Vide cookers for a while - this is a new way to cook, so there is no tons of info. There are also a lot of Sous Vide cookers on the market. As a proof of concept, I wanted a Sous Vide which is not too expensive and yet has all the features. This cooker has all the right balance between price and quality I need. I cooked Salmon and Sirloin steak and they came out great. It did take some time to cook but since you don’t need oven or range, you can set it for timer and come back after it’s done – no need to wait and monitor. After meat or fish is cooked, I also seared it a bit which added an extra crispiness on top. The meat came out very tender – much better than on a grill alone. The controls were easy to operate although had some delay after pressing it which is probably by design. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this Rodoni cooker and already see it as a regular use item in my kitchen.

Super slim and affordable sous vide. No bells or whistles
I use this for making and holding protein so i can use them to make a full meal. Buttons are sometimes not very responsive and they are small buttons. Super nice compared some larger sousvide cus you get a lot of space to place food.

Inexpensive, small profile, easy to use!
Holds temperature easily, and it doesn't take up a lot of space in the pot. Circulates well as you can actually see the water moving. Others have said theirs was noisy, but the one I just received is totally silent! I have to look at the water to make sure it's running... I looked at more expensive units, but settled on this one mostly due to the many positive reviews, and the price. Glad I did!

Very easy to operate.
You can use one of your own pots as long as it is deep enough - 6" or higher depending on how much you are cooking at once. I am going to sous vide some steaks, when cooled refrigerate them and BBQ them the next day. I understand this is how a lot of high end restaurants do theirs and why they are so tasty and tender. Good Luck!
