Olive Wood Rustic Mortar and Pestle

I’m so impressed with this olive wood mortar and pestle! The craftsmanship is absolutely beautiful and the weight feels SO solid and sturdy in your hands. It’s not just gorgeous on the counter—it really gets the job done, whether I’m grinding spices, making pesto or muddling herbs. It's easy to clean and hasn't lost it's beauty after several washes so far. The quality is top-notch and it feels like a piece that will last forever. I'm not sure how often I'll use this, and that's okay because it looks beautiful. The wood was very thick, contrasting, and without cracks. The rough edge on the lip is fantastic. It looks great just as it is, but a little oil made it wonderful.

This mortar bowl is very pretty. Natural with a good solid bottom and the pestle is well made and smooth. The inside edge was a little too rough and sharp but with a little fine sandpaper it was smooth. A little piece of the wood popped off but I do believe this is because it’s supposed to be natural and a little rustic. Didn’t bother me. Very nice and I’d buy again

For a long time the answer was "no" since I have a food processor, coffee grinder and heavy-duty blender. And yet articles and reviews on this ancient hand grinder kept calling me. But I ignored them until this one came along. I have a small kitchen so adding something to the counter tops is a major decision. Until this one came along. I love natural wood products and this one is lovely. So for a while I just enjoyed looking at it until I picked a recipe requiring that I grind whole spices. It's lovely and does a great job -- it's heavy enough and light enough and shaped perfectly to fit its pestle. It's just a joy to see and use. (Someone's review mentioned splinters, and I could see how those would happen at the cut of the wood burl. I used a fine grit sanding sponge to smooth that area "just in case" and it's fine.) If you keep coming back to this kitchen tool, just give in and buy it. You won't regret the purchase.

Mushing herbs

This is the best Mortar and Pestle I have ever tried. I have tried ceramic ones and marble ones, but this gives perfect results for making curry pastes and marinades. I would definitely recommend this one. The size allows you to pound and mixed all at the same time. It's a winner and also beautiful and tactile. It is a wonderful addition to any kitchen.

This is a beautiful looking mortar and pestle, which I will happily display on my benchtop. I am very happy with it. It is actually fairly light, so am not sure how I will go crushing heavier/ harder seeds - but that is to be expected of olive wood. Overall, happy with my item.
