Pisces Pros HBH Frog and Tadpole Bites Aquatic Frog Food (1.2 oz)

We have African Dwarf frogs, and these pellets are fantastic! They sink immediately so I can drop them right in front of our froggies. While the mollies will eat them, the froggies do enjoy them. We feed three times a week, one day pellets, one day frozen bloodworms, and one day frozen carnivore mix. Frogs never turn up their noses at them! And the rest of the tank mates will eat what they don't. Will definitely be coming back for more when our jar is empty =)

I have two African dwarf frogs This frog food is exactly what I was looking for. Frog food that I have bought at pets stores is to small and will just float at the surface of the water for long periods of time and my frogs seem unable to find it. However this food sinks as soon as it is placed in the water so I can drop it directly in front of my frogs. They seem to love this food.

We have a tank full of African dwarf frogs, and we alternate between this HBH Pisces Pro food, the smaller JurassiDiet pellets from Seachem and frozen bloodworms. They eat every other day. These are larger and sink faster than JurassiDiet pellets, so I'm not sure how well small tadpoles will fare with them. But... our adult dwarf frogs kick each other in the face, wrestle and body slam each other to grab these pellets. It's a total free-for-all. Because these are larger pellets we don't offer as many of them at a time. The ferocity of the competition at dinner suggests that these taste great, and the frogs seem healthy and happy. Can't really ask for more than that.

I knew these pellets were going to be too big for my African dwarf frog… I wanted them anyway because they seem to be a good choice for a balanced diet. I thought because the photos made the pellets look moist and soft they’d be easy to cut up into smaller pieces with a razor blade. When I attempted to make the pellets bite sized for ADF they just smashed into a fine powder. I don’t know if my bottle was old or if something was wrong with the seal but the pellets in my bottle were not moist, they were rock hard and are impossible to cut. Oh well at least it wasn’t an expensive mistake.

Every online resource I find mentions this product by name. This is the only pellet food your African Dwarf Frog should be eating, in my opinion. They are soft and moist, which helps with digestion and lessens an impaction or constipation incident. Their texture also works well for smaller frogs, as I find the pellets easy to cut up with a small sewing scissor. They are nutrient-dense, so you only need to feed a tiny bit at a time. I feed about 2 pellets cut up to my frog 2-3 times a week to ensure she is getting all her nutrients. The rest of the week she gets thawed frozen foods. Just plop them on the surface and poke them so they sink. When trying to figure out how much to feed, I recommend to err on the side of too little rather than too much, because they are a high-energy nutrient-dense moist pellet that fills frogs up rather quickly. They are also quite pungent, which makes the pellets easier to find for the logically "challenged" African dwarf frogs. My frog usually locates the pellets within a few minutes of dropping them into the tank.

These are much too big for African dwarf frogs. You have to slice each pellet into fours for them to be able to eat it which is a lot of work. I wish they made pellets for ADF but they don't.

I have been using these to feed my dart frog tadpoles for over a year and have raised many to frogs. They seem to have all of the nutrients needed to raise healthy tadpoles into frogs. Just drop a pellet in the tadpole cup twice a week. One container can last for months depending on the number of tadpoles you have.
