Instructions didn't help in putting in the rechargeable battery
The media could not be loaded. Instructions on the manual were unhelpful. I went through youtube videos of other similar items to push the battery in and clip it correctly and then use it. Other than that it is fine.

Incredibly loud!
The sound is incredibly loud - people nearby wince, and it has a warning sticker on it. The quality is also very good. I haven't yet had to recharge it, but I think that it will be a long time until I have to. You have to pay for quality.

Not very well thought out design
Initially I was pleased with this. It is light and the rechargeable battery is greatThe voice megaphone/siren bit is good and works wellThe MP3 player is not very good.It is not as loud as the voice part and you can't control the volumeThere is a M button and I have no idea what it does as the instructions are for a different panel layout/functions

Old technology
The only good thing about this was the service from the vendor which was first class. The item itself suffers from screechy sound and excessive feedback due to the wired microphone. The world has moved on Compact Bluetooth unit with wireless microphones are available and cheaper!

Far cheaper in the long term
Bought this for pride an other protests, and the Rechargeable Battery version is a great investment. it will be far cheaper than buying a bunch of batteries every time.Be warned however the instructions are pointless, just put the Rechargeable battery in the normal battery bit (i.e. the back) with the electrodes (metal bits not encased in plastic) down.
