Notch Jet Step vs Climbing Technology Quick Step
It works very well. It doesn't seem to damage the rope because it's not a sharp teeth, but a gear type. However, when you first start, the foot ascender may not come up well along the rope. If you hang something at the end of the rope on the ground and let the rope hang down, the foot ascender will come up better. <Renewed> I am a recreational tree climber. When tree climbing, I often use a foot ascender. I use the Notch Jet Step, the Climbing Technology Quick Step, and the Camnal foot ascender. I think two things are key when using foot ascenders. First, it needs to be easy to attach and detach the foot ascender to the rope. In particular, it should be easy to remove it from the rope. The Jet Step does a great job in this regard. To remove the ascender from the rope, simply pull the rope out of the loop. It's not difficult to attach the Quick Step to the rope. However, it's not easy to remove the foot ascender from the rope: you have to push the lever on the ascender down and pull it to the side, which is not easy. The Camnal ascender is also difficult to remove the ascender from the rope. Secondly, when climbing, you need to put your foot up and the foot ascender should slide smoothly up the rope. I use a relatively stiff rope. The Quick Step doesn't slide smoothly over the rope, so I have to try a second or third time to swing my foot or grab the rope with one hand and drag it down. Jet Step , on the other hand, is a device that glides smoothly as I lift my feet. From the perspective of the person using them, there is a clear difference between the two. The Camnal doesn't climb well, so I don't use it much these days. The Jet Step is the best foot ascender that works very well .

Great device.
Great ascender. Easy in and out with rope. Just need to secure it firmly and it will work like you want it to. Recommend tight lower strap first and crank down on upper second. Love the ease of rope entry and removal.

Great product
Great product. The Jet step works amazingly well. It’s lightweight you don’t even feel it while wearing it. It does no damage to the rope unlike other products out there. It stays in place on the rope and doesn’t kick out on you. Smooth operation while climbing. This has been a game changer for me and the rescue team I run on. We will be purchasing more jet steps. I highly recommend buying this product. Easy on, easy off the rope.

This thing is awesome!
I’ve never used any other ascender but this thing is great! Makes climbing up a breeze even for a beginner, with one ascender and a rope wrench with a sling over the shoulder to my belt to capture progress. Im able to step and pull my self up on my rope easier than it is to spur up I’m about to order another one and make my own knee ascender so I can walk right up with both legs. I love how easy it is to get on and off the rope! Game changer! the only thing I think needs improvement is the webbing you attach with could be made differently to make it easier to put on and tighten down. I’m able to strap this on over my spikes but it’s not the easiest getting it on and tight. It’s the only down side in my opinion I would use it even more if I could get it on faster I’m about to mount it to my spikes.

Just Buy It!
This foot ascender takes it to the next level. It has a low friction design allowing the rope to easily slide through the device. The rope grabs are ridge instead of teeth which is easy on your ropes. It’s easy to get rope in and out and fully adjustable to fit either foot. When climbing and limb walking it’s low pro enough to stay out of the way. I considered buy this device for a while but wasn’t sure if it’d be worth it. Now every time I use it I kick myself about not buying it sooner. One draw back is it doesn’t fit well with gafs. Devices such as my Petzl Pantin can be adjust to sit next to my gafs. The jet step is to bulky for that.

Paid for itself
The JetStep is my favorite foot ascender because you can easily unload it and never worry about it unloading itself as you pull it up. It's paid for itself many times over, paired with my RopeRunner Pro.
