Anacharis feeds primarily through its leaves. The plant can produce roots to anchor itself, but it is not necessary that it be planted. It can simply be weighted and dropped into the pond since soil is not really necessary for their survival.

Great plant for science labs
The plant arrived in great shape. I ordered it months ago to use for a photosynthesis lab. It worked really well. The plant now has many shoots growing off the original plant and is in the classroom aquarium.

Do not usually place elodia in my tanks, but wanted to fill some back wall space, took a chance. No shedding and very tall already. Very pleased. This seller must have a long history of raising aquatic plants. Thanks, Marie

Decent
This arrived alive, though definitely discolored and the pot had been smashed beyond recognition; the package was very clearly worse for the wear. I ordered 3 bundles and received a 3 longer stems and several very, very short stems (half the length of my pinky finger roughly, some possibly due to the state of the packaging but others were clearly snipped that short). Appropriately quarantined them and inspected before placing into 2 of my 3 tanks. One of the tanks ended up with a snail, but it was easy enough to get rid of and I've seen no further signs of unintended visitors since then (a few did appear in the quarantine tank but that's what it's there for). They are starting to grow new shoots, though the discoloration hasn't completely perked up yet. No leaf melt, no rotting.With proper precautions (such as a good quarantine of it first and a careful eye on your water conditions), this is a good beginner plant for an aquarium and this seller has good prices. I will likely order from them again at some point.With no other nee introductions, within several days of writing this review, I ended up finding more snails in the 2nd tank, which quickly ended up with a LOT of snails. Thankfully, they haven't overwhelmed the tank. I am still working on getting rid of them. I probably would quarantine any further plants from them for a LOT longer next time.

Waste of money
I was very disappointed. Looked nearly dead and decaying when arrived. When I attempted to pull the pot off and separate the stems they fell apart. I attempted to plant the remaining portions of 3 of the stems. It’s been over two weeks and nothing. What a waste of money.

Plants arrived healthy, snail free, and had 10 stems of various lengths. I would highly reccomend for your plant needs. I also bought a amazon sword plant that arrive the same condition
