D'Addario EJ41 Phosphor Bronze 12-String Guitar Strings, Extra Light 9-45

I have a Takamine GJ72CE-12NAT Jumbo body w/spruce top, maple sides, back and neck. I removed 1 shim from each saddle, removed the D'Addario EJ38 .010 set, and installed the D'Addario EJ41 .009 -.045 set. I get a wonderful loud sound with brilliant balanced warmth and crispness. Much has to do with the Jumbo body and the woods used, but the strings DID make a noticeable difference as well - both in tone and easier playability on a 12 string. They hold tune very well, so if problems arise, it's your stringing technique - or lack of one. Get a motorized battery string winder for consistency in keeping tension while winding strings.

I am a beginner guitar player. I purchased these strings because they were recommended to be easier on my fingers as I start out. I snapped the low E string after several attempts to tune that string. I never could get it close. I am sure that it was user error. I ended up putting the old E string back on and eventually got it to tune. The strings are so much easier on my fingers. I can now practice much longer. The old 12s were so hard on my fingers that I could only go about 5 minutes at a time. I am so happy that I got these strings and will be buying more in the future. By the way, the sound is great.

I play 12-string guitars and have both an Ovation Custom Balladeer and an Adamas, and I've never used anything but D'Addario EJ41 extra lights on them. I need the extra light strings (.009 - .045) because my fingers can't handle thicker strings, and I don't like the way the thicker strings *sound*. These strings sound bright and lively, and they really do last for a very long time. I tried other makes of strings on other guitars I've had and find that these D'Addarios are absolutely the best.

RECOMMENDED Light and sweet toned. Not as heavy as standard, but good if your vintage instrument needs lighter strings. Easy on the fingers for those new to 12 string guitar. Long lasting. These did tune right up, and stayed tuned pretty well from the start. I do recommend wiping down your instrument and the strings to remove the acid from your fingers. Great strings. D'Addario makes some of the best. I use them on all my guitars. These are no exception. My only beef with them is that they seem to take days before you can get all the stretch out of them and stay in tune. On a 12 string, that's a big consideration. But the sound is great, and they last quite along time.

I've always used Martin strings on my guitars, but after stringing up my Gibson with these D'addario's I won't be going back to Martin. The sound quality and ease of use on my fingers is outstanding. Great product for the price. New life long customer.

Lovely set of strings inside a polythene bag inside a cardboard sleeve - no wasted packaging here! The strings were colour coded in pairs, making it very easy to identify which string was which. Really pleased with them! :)
