What is the accuracy and resolution?

>Resolution= .1 >Repeatability= +-1% Or +-1 >12:1 distance:spot ratio >Accuracy= I'm not sure of the exact accuracy but I've tested it against a thermocouple, and industrial PID temp controlled device and it was exactly the whole number It should've been, matched the other two repeatedly. Tested different surfaces works consistently and well. Really happy with it..

I want to use this for fishing. will it reliably read flowing surface water temp? what "emisivity" settings for salt/fresh h2o?

Yep it'll work for that..Comes with card listing emissivity settings Water emissivity (liquid) .93 Water emissivity (snow) .83-.90

How is this different from IR thermometers that have both and object mode and human mode? Anything special?

Hello AbGT, Infrared thermometers can only read surface temperatures and not internal temperatures. So an infrared thermometer won't be able to read human temperatures. If you take a temperature on your skin, it won't read your body temperature, but your outer skin temperatures. Jace Kizen Customer Obsession Representative
