Will this hold boxes of tea?

A .9 oz box of celestial tea..20 tea bags..fit perfectly fine lengthwise on its side with the top of the box facing front.

This product description is wrong in reference to the shelf depth. Ours measured 3" at best, description says 3.5". Anyone else found this to be true?

The 3.5" indicated width is the overall width of the product, which includes the 1/4" or so bars that the hold the mesh. The inside tray width is likely a maximum of 3.1" as it is in other similar product descriptions. It won't hold the largest square spice bottles (say from Costco). But based on the other dimensions, it should hold anything smaller, and can be positioned to hold much taller bottles than other dual fixed shelf racks can hold.

Anyone use command hooks to hang these?

Yes, I have and they work just fine, although there will be a slight tilt for them hanging outwards. I can't post a photo here, but did a review with the 3-tier rack plus these for hanging where I showed photographs. Make certain to properly clean (and dry) the walls, press hard for a full minute on the hook, then again a full minute against the wall and wait long enough for the hooks to 'set' so you don't have crashing problems (I waited a full 6 hours instead of the single hour they say), and I highly recommend not putting more than the allowance of a single hook to be safe. Even though weight distribution might tempt you to raise it again by half - one must consider usage and how the rack might be knocked a bit by removing items. Plus, as I said, these racks tilt a bit, which adds pressure, and one must always include the weight of the rack itself. If your rack is going to be exposed to a lot of moisture/heat and grease or a lot of bumping about, consider lightening the load. In general, making the load lighter is better, of course. On my 3-tier, I used two 5-lb hooks, and on these single shelves, I used two 3-lb hooks ea. These smaller shelves (such as shown here) hold six 6 oz Victorian square bottles plus a smaller bottle of spices if that helps any. Some of the spices are heavier as well, such as onion powder, cinnamon and garlic powder. The total weight (shelf included) is around 2.5-2.7 lbs, and I had this set up in one apt for 2 years with no problem whatsoever. I have now moved to another place and put up a similar construct. The larger rack has also worked perfectly well with the two 5 lb command hooks, and it holds twelve 1.1-1.3 oz bottles and five 3 oz bottles. Again, these are spices, not screws, and weight matters.
