There isn’t much of a display—just an LED indicator—but it still does its job well and gives peace of mind once it’s plugged in. The alert tones are loud enough to hear from another room, which is great for safety. One thing other customers should definitely know: the low-battery/alert chirp sounds exactly like a standard fire alarm. When ours started chirping, we went around the house checking every single smoke detector before realizing it was actually this device. So if you hear a mystery chirp, make sure to check this unit too. Overall, it’s functional, straightforward, and provides solid leak detection. Just keep that identical chirp in mind and you’ll be all set. Highly recommend for an easy layer of home safety.

I’ve had this exact carbon monoxide detector in my home for the past 10 years, and it just recently gave me a notification that its life expectancy had expired. After a full decade of flawless performance, I didn’t even hesitate—I went out and bought the exact same brand again. Installation is super easy. It plugs right into any standard outlet, and I really appreciate that it also includes a battery backup. That gives me extra peace of mind knowing it’ll keep working even if the power goes out. What I value most is how reliable it’s been. It clearly notifies you when there’s an issue or when the unit needs replacing—no guessing games or worrying if it’s still functioning. It’s one of those quiet protectors in the background that just does its job.

Nice price for a good looking CO1 alarm. Nicely packed in plastic hard shell that had easy open feature that did not required a knife to open. I had to try the "tamper resist" switch and turned it on, then discovered I could not turn it off. The instructions in the owners manual were not helpful so I emailed Kidde for help. No reply after 24 hours. The unit installed easily and having the tamper resist on may be a good thing. If the alarm gets booted off the wall the alarm should sound to alert us and then I plug it back in. OK for now. Not impressed with quality control, instructions or customer service. Just keep your hands off the tamper resist.

This simple CO detector is so easy to install; just plug it into an electrical outlet. It does not block the second outlet if you plug it into the lower outlet, and the plug can be rotated so it can be used in horizontal or vertical outlets. It comes with 2 AA batteries (for backup in case the power goes off) protected by a plastic strip so they don't run down before it's sold. Just slide the battery cover off and remove the thin plastic strip, slide the cover back on, plug it in, and press the test/reset button. The alarm sound is four loud tones followed by a pause and then four more. The instructions say don't install it in a bathroom or near a heat vent or heat-producing appliance. Mine is in a wall outlet in my bedroom. With a natural gas forced air furnace and a gas water heater I decided this was worth the low cost for carbon monoxide protection. Like most people, I have separate smoke detectors but they don't check for carbon monoxide, which is odorless and colorless.

I bought two of these for my house for peace of mind. Very easy to use, just plug it into an available wall plug and you are detecting. No wiring involved. I change the battery out every year, so I'm not sure about the batterylife. I'm happy they're in my house, protecting the family.
