Nautical Knot Tying Kit for Boaters and Sailors

This little guy definitely helps if you’re a beginner like myself with nautical knots. I mounted it to my wooden patio table and sat there and practiced. The cleat seems pretty heavy duty and the information cards give good instructions.

I didn't pay attention to the size of the item. In my mind I pictured actual rope-sized. These are just shoestring sized. They're fine and get the lesson of tying the knots across.

Good idea but the tie-off hitch is smaller than I expected (about 5 inches long) and the rope is thinner than I expected, toy-like. Bought it for my 9 yo grandson so maybe his hands are small enough that the size won’t matter. The cards are nice and might be handy. I was expecting a bit more for the price.

Great little kit, im knot lying.I took a board drilled two holes for the paracord and attached the cleat works great. Might hang it on the wall

The scale of this is hard to gauge on the images but it really is tiny. That said, the cards are useful, so not a waste of time and money hence 3 stars.

Helps to learn basic knotts

I am a sailing student currently, and very interested in knots particularly for boating.The photo shows this knot kit in the lower left, with a competing kit in the lower right. The top has my home made practice ropes and store bought cleat.The cords that come with this kit are 1/4 inch paracord, not braided polyester as used in boating. They are too small to properly practice. The "cleat" is a cheap plastic item, absolutely useless. The "guide" they ship has many mistakes and mislabelled knots.Do not purchase.

This tiny set is just what we needed for practicing boating knots. We nailed the cleat to small board for stability. Two different colored lines and knot instruction booklet made learning easy.
