Anderson Metals - 57001-0808 57001 Brass Hose Fitting, Adapter, 1/2" Barb x 1/2" NPT Male Pipe

It's well made - I used one of these to replace the fitting on my wort chiller. It's just as it says it is - 1/2 inch, and is machined well. If you're thinking of using this for the ball valve on a brew kettle, think twice...brass fittings like this likely have surface lead that you'll want to clean up before you use it. It's not life threatening but it will give pause to some, so better to use stainless steel for things that will actually be touching wort. Overall, a well made item. It's not el cheapo.

I got several of these barbs to hook up clear vinyl hosing to all the other brass fittings and valves, and they worked perfectly. You don't need to "pre-thread" these to get rid of the burrs as they are smooth and nicely made. The 1/2" barb works perfectly with flexible clear vinyl hosing that is 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD. I highly recommend these barbs to hook up your hoses to the other brass fittings on all your projects.

Arrived on time and was what I needed.

This does NOT Have the correct taper for NPT. The fittings spin all the way into other brass fittings I have. Since other NPT fittings I have work correctly I’ll say these are garbage. Buy at your own risk.
