Great picture....while it lasted
I gave this item to my wife for mothers day. She loved it, we had a slideshow that was a mix of museum pieces (from the Meural app) and our own family photos. Then, one day, it stopped working. The pictures still display, kind of, but now they have blinking pixels or static across them. It's like looking at an old antenna tv trying to pull in the picture. I of course contacted support. They had me perform a hard reset, which somehow seemed to make the pixels angrier, now the whole screen is covered with them. And that was the last I heard from support. It's been 3 or 4 days without a response despite my follow-ups. No one touched the frame or was near it, it just started showing this snow and now i can't get Netgear/meural to respond with a fix or replacement (as it's in warranty). Also, buyer beware, if you want support or troubleshooting after the first 60 or 90 days from purchase, you have to pay for it. I'm still hoping netgear comes through with a RMA, but the process so far is enough for me to no longer recommend this item. A shame since I was thinking of purchasing more for holiday gifts.

Easy to update photos from phone
Being a photographer, I have a huge collection of memories that I just could not fit on the wall before I got this. After an easy installation and a few clicks in the Meural app, I was able to upload everything I wanted into galleries. When I’m ready for something new, I either switch to the art that is included with the membership or upload a new gallery. The entire family and my clients love it. If you want to know the information about the image or art piece being displayed, you simply wave your hand across the bottom corner and it pops up. The images a extremely crisp and bright. I will be purchasing more of these!

Great for the price
I've wanted a digital picture frame for a while and have been eyeing the Meural Canvas for some time. Have been skeptical since cannot be found in a brick and mortar store but it didn't disappoint. The other frames I've been researching was Canvia and Samsung The Frame and for the price you get bang for your buck compared to smaller frames. I selected Meural over Samsung for one main reason, Meural can be used in portrait or landscape and Samsung The Frame is only in landscape. Also, Meural does not need any other component to be attached like Samsung. Settings up was easy but must be done through the Meural app. Meural has gesture controls which allows you to wave your hand to switch images and details. You can also use the app to cycle the images you have loaded. You can add images to the cloud or use SD card and makes most images look great. One annoyance is if you installed Meural in portrait and the image is landscape then it will not load and their isn't a way to adjust or center the image if it is offset a bit. You can force a landscape image in portrait but you also can just rotate the frame. Meural has sample artwork and of course could subscribe for their service but the beauty is you can load any image you want. This is a great product that decided to get a second unit. It took a while to find a way to add another Meural to my account and I wish they would provide more instructions even on their website. There are two latches on the back of the unit to remove the outer wooded frame but Netgear does not sell them and state that removing the wooden frame could damage the unit. The power adapter is huge and wondering why does it need to be so large and the unit has some weight to it. So when installing Meural to the wall pay close attention to the wall material and use the correct fasteners. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to display their pictures or artwork. Pros: Size SD Card Ways to load picture Included mounting hardware Cons: Price Large boarder Lack of instructions Size of power adapter Update 02/28/2021 Tried the SD card to add my pictures and not use the cloud or upload any to the netgear servers. After trying for some time found a forum on Netgear's website where it states you can use any sd card as long as it is class 10 and faster. Created folders but Meural didn't find anything then found another forum that says have to create folders "Meural 1, etc but max four folders. If you create a folder meural5 or more the system does not find it. Lastly, it does play short videos but Meural isn't very powerful and you will see the video latency. Lastly, if the video is small on size it will not stretch the video to fit the screen.

Does not work. terrible server issues going on for months.
Will not connect to server. Brick product. Reached out to netgear apparently this has been known for months that the product does not work. Not sure why they are selling these with no functionality. I can't even load my own photos unless it connects to the server first, so I literally just paid for a blank screen. netgear needs to figure this out.

Frustrating design, motion controls are completely broken
I didn’t buy this product. My father bought it for my mother as a Christmas gift. First things first. The picture image is really good and the frame looks very nice and classy. That is the only nice this I will say about it. Mostly though, I hate this thing. This pile of digital garbage has stolen hours of my life away because the user interface is terrible and is riddled with questionable design decisions and inaccurate documentation. None of the default settings look good and unless your photos are the exact right dimensions they will look like trash unless you fiddle with this thing. All of the images from my mother’s iPhone 11 look blurry and fuzzy but they look fine on a all other devices and monitors. Nothing about this thing straightforward or simple. It is complex. Obtuse. It constantly decides to just get stuck on a single picture or reset itself back to the default stock images in an apparent random manner. I can’t go two days without having to help my parents with this piece of junk after it introduces some new frustration. The worst offender is this motion sensing technology that supposedly lets you control the device “with a wave of your hand.” This barely works. You can sweep your hand past it fast or slow, along the edges or the bottom or the top or wherever you want, AND IT WILL NEVER DO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO. Usually it just does nothing, but often it executes a totally different command than you intended unless your movements are absolutely perfect. Sometimes it accepts the motion command but the devices doesn’t respond for several seconds, which makes you think it didn’t catch your command the first time, so then you try again and suddenly it applied your motion command twice when it springs into action. I suspect that this feature also executes random commands if you walk by it at the wrong speed or angle or if a shadow passes over it, which probably explains why my parents keep having constant issues. Loading your own images from an iPhone is a chore and managing them is a hassle. We later learned that you should consider building an album in your iPhone and then syncing that specific album. It mostly works... except when it doesn’t. Some photos randomly didn’t sync or load for several days before magically appearing, so that was nice. We tried to load pictures onto the device using an SD card. That doesn’t work, at all and we just gave up on that idea, which is something other people have reported as well. Customer service was beyond useless and kind of rude. I’m sure this product is fine if you are willing to work around it’s gimmicky and finicky intricacies, but I can’t personally recommend it.
