I owned the Balls to the Wall/Restless and Wild CD. I heard about their Blood of the Nations comeback album with a new singer and was intrigued by all the high praise it was getting. However, it was not until STALINGRAD was released that I decided to actually buy the album and give it a shot. It quickly became a personal favorite and I realized I needed to start taking the new ACCEPT more seriously.Unlike the brilliant 1+2 punch of Hung, Drawn and Quartered & Stalingrad, this album gets off to a rather average start. Stampede does not quite live up to the killer cover art, and is nowhere near furious as it should be. Dying Breed is a fun, but slightly generic metal homage. I've already heard several other songs from other bands that tie together lyrical phrases from Judas Priest etc. It was cool to hear a Saxon reference though...very underrated band. Anyway, the rest of the album is amazing. 'From the Ashes We Rise' is an uplifting fist pumping anthem and '200 Years' paints a vivid picture of a world without humans. 'Final Journey' is the perfect closer to this album and is my favorite final song on any of the new ACCEPT albums.An area where Accept is surprisingly strong is dealing with current events of global warming, extinction, mass shootings, and other downfalls of humanity. They never get annoyingly political like some of Megadeth or Slayer songs, although 'Wanna Be Free' is maybe a little too preachy. Their heart was in the right place writing it and the guitar riffing is incredibly catchy so I can't hate the song too much!Of the 4 new albums Blind Rage might be the overall best. It's a close call between this one and Stalingrad. Honestly, I have been listening to ACCEPT probably 90% of the time for the last several months. I'm totally hooked! Out of all the 80's metal heroes ACCEPT is going the strongest now. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Third Metal Masterpiece in a Row *by J***K on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2014* Yep, they've done it a 3rd time in a row. Not only have they delivered another strong collection of metal anthems, this time they've included a DVD. And this is not your typical promotional DVD with a few videos and a 20 minute "making of" feature. Included here is the full 23 song set from the live performance in Chile last year. It is a high quality show with tons of energy and a great representation of songs from the past 2 releases as well as the early releases. The new songs hold up well to repeated play and stylistically fall in line with the last 2 studio releases. "Dying Breed" is a highlight with its clever lyrical tribute to all of the great metal bands from the early days. The only song that could have been deleted would be "Bloodbath Mastermind" which is a bit too long and too repetitive. That song aside, the rest of this album smokes. Accept have given the fans a good run with this newest incarnation (circa 2010-present) and by the looks and sounds on the live DVD they show no signs of stopping anytime soon.
