Top quality and great tool for creativity
A jib has been on my wishlist for a long time. I saw this and decided to buy it. And I'll be honest, I bought it because it was cheap. I didn't think this could compete with a tripod-mounted jib though, but I saw it as a compromise I was willing to make. This is actually a very useful item to own if you are into videography or photography. It is lightweight, sturdy, strong, and very easy to operate. It really opens up the creativity for shooting and I would argue it works just as well as a tripod-mounted one. I also like the fact that you can buy more poles and extend the length to whatever you want. That is something I intend to do next.If you are set on getting a tripod mounted jib or you just want to open your creativity a bit - I strongly recommend this. It really ads an entirely new dynamic to your finished video work.

Get shots like you never have before
Pretty darn good quality and a great concept. This jib will give you some different perspectives in your videos. You wouldn't want to use a camera much heavier than a GoPro. Simple and fast to put together. Keep in mind that it's primarily for shots facing away from you. If you point it towards yourself, you will see the pole and the cord in the shots so not good for selfie type filming. Lightweight and easy to carry around. If you are walking around and want to get some action shots, yes this is a very cool jib.

A great way to add some unique viewpoints to my photos....
Since I wanted the ability to use my GoPro from heights, I looked at several ways of doing this. My Hero5 has WiFi, so there is a video link to my iPhone and I thought some sort of PoleCam would work just fine. After several searches, I found this JOBY Jib Kit and I thought it looked like it would do the job, both with my GoPro as well as other small cameras...like my Nikon AW100.When it arrived, I clamped the operators pulley as well as the camera mounting pulley to a high quality painters pole that I've used with my Nikon DSLR....I've trusted this expensive camera and its weight to a Sherlok 8'-15' pole many times, so I had no doubt that it was adequate for the light weight of the GoPro and Jib Rig.. (I recommend this pole for 2 main reasons. First of all, the extension is hexagonal...NOT round like most of them, so it will NOT twist as it's being extended, and secondly because this pole has POSITIVE locks every six inches. It does NOT use the normal 'clutch' mechanism that most poles use, but instead has a pin that drops into holes that are drilled into the extension. This makes sure that everything stays exactly where it has been set....VERY important with a heavy camera/lens combo and it even keeps things in alignment with this much lighter weight GoPro rig...!)After getting the pulleys attached and stringing the paracord around them, I did a dry run with no camera attached and was pleased to find that it all seemed to work as advertised. It is very easy to tilt the carrier along with the camera up and down....even to rotate it through a full 360...! With this bit of confidence, I attached my GoPro to the upper end, got my iPhone and GoPro linked and gave it a trial run. Success...!! It was neat to be able to see the exact picture that the GoPro was photographing on my iPhone and turning the lower handle allowed me to tilt the GoPro up and down with no effort at all. This will really allow me to do some interesting shots, both high in the air...as well as underwater...! Not sure the WiFi will still work that way, but I know I can maneuver the shaft and camera for some nifty angles and viewpoints.Since my extended painter's pole is about 16' long, I bought more paracord to allow me to use this rig at full extension. It was no surprise to find that this added length works just fine, too.

As advertized: no pole.
if you priced this item out in stores when it first came out you know that this is a great value! I use it on my trekking pole and have used it on a longer pole as well.

Useless item without the pole
I went to the manufacturer's own website and it is impossible to buy the pole separately. That is, the product without the pole besides incomplete becomes useless. It was only after I received the product that I was able to attend to the fact that its description informed the absence of the pole.I notice that I was partially deceiving because there are several descriptions informing that the pole comes together is part of quite, including enemy illustrative images about the product description.I am absolutely disappointed because I was expecting to use the product on my vacation with my family and children, but I find myself with the item incomplete and of no use.In order for other people not to be misled as I was, it would be advisable and fair to remove any and all information and / or illustrative images that lead to the fact that the pole accompanies the complete completeness of the item for sale because I believe it to be wrong. this form of seller approach, as reported, induce consumers to mistake.

What was I thinking.
Sometimes you buy something because it looks really good in the picture. This is one of those times. For some reason I thought I was gonna be an amazing director with my go Pro camera and this whole system.Sort of like when I was a kid and I dreamed of digging a hole to China.

Not bad but not good either.
Its ok for a hand Jib. The rig is just not what I was expecting and although it has a bungee cord to maintain tension, it only works out of the box. After a few assemblies and storage cycles... not so much.

Used this at a few events
I have used this at a few events to get crowd shots and some higher angle shots that I couldn't get with my normal camera. It also fits on a painters pole, and I used paracord to extend the controls.
