Great Value Gaming monitor
Pros: Only $200 as of writing this. 144hz refresh rate 1ms response time 8 pre configured monitor profiles Cons: No built in speaker This Acer Nitro 24 inch monitor is a great steal for its value and quality. Many monitors with these specs cost well into the $300 range, but Acer captures all the needs of the modern 1080p gamer for only $200. I love the 144hz refresh rate. I've only ever used 60hz monitors and let me say 144hz definitely makes a difference when it comes to gaming. I played GTA V on this monitor side by side my old 60hz monitor and the image quality was astoundingly more sleek and defined. The monitor also has an eco feature which dims the brightness and makes colors easier on the eyes as you game late into the night. Another reason I went with this monitor is because of the reputation Acer has for good quality monitors. Other gaming monitors competing in this price range try and offer the same specs but do so at the cost of quality. I've had this monitor two months now and my brother who bought a Scepter brand monitor is already noticing dead pixels. The only downside I can think of for this monitor is its lack of a built in speaker. For some people this may be a deal breaker, but you can honestly pick up $10 speakers on Amazon that would have the same quality audio as traditional built in speakers (which is what I did). With all this in mind I expect to keep this monitor in use for the next several years until 4k gaming becomes a more realistic option for the casual gamer. Definitely worth the money.

Great Color, No Issues
I've had this monitor for a little over a year now I think (maybe 2?). So far so good. Great to have high FPS in games. No dead pixels, no coil whine, no backlight bleed (at least that my basic eyes can distinguish). The menu system and buttons are pretty standard these days, but very easy to use and comprehensive compared to other/old monitors. I actually found myself using the cross hair overlay in some games (mostly ones that don't have a crosshair by default). I watch shows/movies as well and the picture quality as well as the color quality are very good (again from what my basic eyes can discern).

Phenomenal Monitor - Acer Nitro VG240Y Pbiip
2 Year Update: Monitor still works great, but has been retired for a higher end model. This monitor is great even though similar spec'd options are pretty much ubiquitous. 1 Year Update: At the time of purchase this was the only 144hz IPS 1080p display under $200. It was a great purchase for $173, however you should consider the wide variety of monitors that are now available. Mine came with no dead pixels or imperfections, still works great. The 144Hz IPS panel is nice, with great colors and viewing angles. The display works with G-Sync through Display Port and worked very well in the Nvidia pendulum demo. It has VESA mounting 100mm x 100mm. There's a control nub instead of buttons for changing monitor settings (big fan of that). The only thing I don't like about this monitor is the cruddy stand, but that can be replaced.

I'm in love
I want to start off this review by saying I absolutely love these monitors. I took a chance and bought two of them. I had no problems with any dead pixels and the color is surprisingly vibrant. They are also a perfect size in my opinion. I've been getting great Hz through the HDMI port. With these being exceptional monitors, I do have a few things that might be good to know before purchasing. The HDMI and power cords are very short. That problem isn't so bad for the power cords because running an extension cord really isn't that complicated, however the HDMI cord being short is a complete different issue. If you go and buy a longer HDMI cord you risk losing the performance in Hz. Luckily for me I was able to use the included HDMI cord for my main (left) monitor. This allows me to get optimal performance for my games. My secondary (right) monitor I just ran a longer HDMI cord that supports around 60Hz. I really don't mind not having the same performance on that one. My last and final minor issue is no AUX port. It would've been convenient for hooking up speakers, even my 80$ old Dell monitor had that. But overall I'm extremely happy for the price and performance, I think you would be as well! Goodluck!

The best value gaming monitor
Out of the box, the monitor is overly bright and the gamma is off a bit. Once you correct that, this monitor has insane image quality, contrast, brightness, and of course response time. I am able to overclock the monitor to 165hz in Windows display settings and confirm that it is indeed smoooooooth in games. For the money, I see absolutely no issues. Oh and I don't see any dead/stuck pixels at all. I can't comment on the stand because I'm using the VIVO V002 vesa mount.

Great monitor for the money
I had been looking to create a budget gaming setup without compromising too much in terms of performance or quality when I stumbled upon this monitor. Now, I'm not a hardcore gamer or anything so I don't care too much about changing the image quality values on the monitor, so I can't really speak on that. However, I can say that this monitor has a decent resolution, I like the overall look of it and the nearly nonexistent bezel around the screen, and I am more than happy with how it performs, as it gets the job done for what I need it to do.
