I DIDN'T receive a discount - these are just the facts :)
We have a 95lb lab/shep X and for the first few days he was very unsure about these clippers. So I decided since he doesn't have opposable thumbs that I should take over and do the job for him ;)I can't say that Leroy was thrilled to have his nails clipped, but I can say that once cornered he did stop the struggle and I was able to safely and effectively clip his long nails down - he is mostly indoors and doesn't get to wear down his nails on concrete pavers or the like, as some dogs do.The clippers worked really well and the safety guard gives you a good point of guidance to know how far to go when clipping, to avoid cutting the tender toes!!The only downside I found was the little nail file, nicely presented tucked away in one of the handles, so very convenient, although not very effective. It is just too flat and thin to do much to Leroy's large and thick nails.Luckily, the nails cut across quite cleanly, and there was minimal rough edges left to even need filing. His daily walks on the concrete sidewalks are enough to just smooth off these edges.Overall, an easy to grip, easy to use set of clippers, and as long as you have a cooperative pooch, I am sure you will find these well worth the price for their good performance.

great!
Omg everybody in the house dreads nail clipping time but these clippers made it a breeze. We used to use a dremel until one day when the sand paper became unglued and flew into my dog. Everytime you would go to do her nails she would shiver and everyone would feel anxiety about it. Shes a pretty big catahoula dog at 85lbs we also have a 70lb aussie-catahoula mix. I just clipped both of their nails which are pretty grown out (due to the dread of nail clipping time) but it probablly took me less than ten minutes for both dogs. Their nails are pretty thick so I am starting with small cuts, I feel like if you try a bigger cut like 3/16" or larger you could get a bit of crushing that might cause the nail to crack. I started with about the size of 1/8" maybe less on some and will do it again in 3 days to give time for the quick to recede.I feel like the nail file for my large dogs is kinda meh. I used it but it wasnt really big enough to do a good job and it was kinda small and awkward to hold with the big dog toes, convenient in the handle but I might pick up a bigger one somewheres. The clippers do look of good quality, the rubber handle is nice. I have small hands and it wasnt difficult to grasp. They werent puny like some other clippers you get. I am eager to see if they stay sharp after a few trims with these thick nails we have here.So far not regretting this purchase.

Newbee at this nail clipping.
I spent a lot of time researching and reviewing dog nail clippers as I am a new dog owner and have no idea what I am doing or what to look for. So I can tell you this...no matter how many stars a product has or how many "how to" videos you watch, clipping dog nails will be nerve-racking at first.I have used the clippers three times so far and I find the guide very helpful and have not cut into the quick because of it. My pup was as skittish as I was the first time and I have found the easiest way to clip her nails is while she is standing. I slide the clipper right under the nail and quickly cut firmly. One of her nails did fray some, but I'm not sure if that was user error by squeezing it too slowly. Overall for the price and ease of use, I find it to be a good product. I should mention I have a one year old black lab/plot hound mix with strong blank nails.

Very poor design, although it looks solid and in good quality. My german shepherd hates this because it cuts the nail too hard. It almost crushes the nail instead of cutting it. Having said that, the product is made of good material and good craftsmanship. It is just made too much for the dog's nail. I am using it to cut light wires now.

Good clipper overall
These clippers are very stiff to use compared to my old pair. However, they are sturdy and reasonably sharp, and the nail guard works very well. My old pair has a nail guard, but it swivels loosely so often isn't in place when I need it to be. The guard on this pair stays put. The little file that comes with them is a bit hard to extract from the handle, but it's just the finishing touch my dog's nails need once they're clipped and it is very handy that it travels "on board" to keep it from being mislaid. These were a good investment.

I purchased this product with hesitation based on the many poor reviews of similar products and also was not sure how effectively the safety lock help to clip the nails without cutting too deep. I am glad I made the right decision. I am 100% satisfied and my dog was very comfortable and calmly allowing the clipping. I used it several times and I have no complaint.Mine is a large breed German Shepherd and I felt very easy to use this clipper on its tough nails. I highly recommend this product.

Relieved to have great trimmers.
So happy I purchased these. I have labored through trying to trim nails with the ones from pet supply stores and Wal-Mart and its wasn't good for the dogs or me. My wife has German Short Haired pointers, excellent dogs, but I hate making them endure trimmings with the crappy trimmers. These were so nice, that trimming three adult dogs took about 10 minutes and they didn't mind because it was quick and so clean. Thank you!

Durable
I’ve had these for a long time now. They are still just as useful as day one. Easy to use too.
