ROLL Wireless Mobile Bluetooth Speaker (Waterproof and Shockproof) - Piñata

This speaker is exactly what I wanted. We have people over at our house a lot, and we spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I wanted something affordable, easy to use, and durable, while able to fill a room with loud, clear music. This speaker is easy to connect to, and the strap can be used to mount it to something like the back of a chair to keep it out of the way. I've been using it for several months and never had a problem with it. You can download a UE app that lets you monitor the battery level closely, and allows you to adjust the equalization, which is nice. It can also get very loud without compromising the music quality. We once had it blasting in the kitchen; my roommate heard it from across the house and wondered how we could even hear each other talk over it. I can only find two minor issues with it. If you let the battery drain completely, then you need to let it charge for a good 10 minutes before you can use it again. During this time, when the battery level is too low, you can't use it (it will say "Charging. Please wait," if you try to turn it on). Once it hits a certain minimum battery level, you can start using it again while it continues to finish charging. Also, if two devices that have connected to it in the past have their bluetooth on, then you can sometimes get interference between the two (for example, if my roommate is playing a game with sound effects and she has her bluetooth on, her sound effects might come through the speaker and stop my music). This hasn't been too much of an inconvenience in our house because one of us can always just turn our bluetooth off, but it could be a little tricky if someone else is using bluetooth at the same time. I haven't tested it to see what happens if one devise is connected to the UE Roll while someone else is trying to connect to another bluetooth device, so that might be something to be cautious of. I sometimes use this speaker at night when I'm watching shows on my laptop but don't want to disturb my roommates and don't want to use headphones (I can't lay comfortably on my side with headphones on). I can put the volume low and keep the speaker near my head, which provides a better sound than my laptop speakers while still keeping the volume down. I love this speaker. If you're looking for a quality bluetooth speaker that can give you some volume without breaking the bank, this is a great option.

Great range and the bungee cord on this is Genius! The sound is really good for the price and compared to similar speakers I've used it puts out sound. It doesn't compare to speakers 3 times the cost like Bose, but it really shines compared to anything in a similar price range. Bluetooth connection was easy and it has a very sturdy feel. I've used it for almost 6 months and really enjoyed it. Battery life is long and I like it, I might buy a second one to get surround sound.

fussy as hell connecting both to play at once. Great price and good sound, just a pain sometimes doubling up....if you have the patience then it is worth it.

I received this as a birthday gift recently and have been using it quite a bit. Out of all the Bluetooth speakers I've used (Jawbone, 20$ add-on speaker, Beats pill, some others), this is the best. The sound quality is surprisingly better than you would expect for an item of these dimensions. It easily beats other speakers in this price range for sound quality. I'd say amplitude is about an 8/10. It's pretty loud, but sometimes it can easily get washed out by background noise. That's not a reason not to buy this speaker though. I was on a bike ride with my friend yesterday and had the speaker attached to the bike (the bungee cord is a HUGE bonus. I use it all the time.) when it fell off because I didn't attach it well enough. We were on a bumpy road going ~18mph, I hit a bump, it went flying off the bike and bounced on the road, and my friend proceeded to run over it on accident. This thing is insane. Throughout the whole event, it continued playing music, and was perfectly functional and the only scare it has now is a scuff on the back and small tear in the fabric which is barely noticeable. Went home, washed it off and it looks almost like new. The IPX7 rating is the BOMB!!! I would highly recommend this speaker as a portable option that can go wherever you go and provide an overall incredible, reliable, experience. 10/10.

At first I loved this speaker and I thought it was the best bluetooth small format speaker out there. That was when I tested it out in my house a few feet from my phone. The first time I took this out to the beach and wanted to really get some use from it is when I found the problems with the unit. I was 7 feet from it on the beach with my iPhone 6s and nothing in-between my phone and the UE Roll and the audio was cutting in and out all the time. The fix was to move my phone a foot closer to it. It says that it gets 65 feet with bluetooth or something like that, more like 6 feet. At 6 feet this device becomes useless. Also the power cable was of low quality and broke the first time I tried to charge with it. I had to use just a standard phone mini-USB cable that I was able to get to work.

It's okay for in shower use but the sound is basically just mid range. I would think for the price the sound would be better. Also, the volume is a problem. I definitely would not recommend it for outdoor use unless it stays right next to you.
