Difficult to navigate in the Kindle version
Not enough pictures and not enough detail on the descriptions of the site for my liking. Definitely better than nothing, but this is no Michelin guide.

Poor Navigation & no maps
The written content of this book is decent, but the Kindle navigation and lack of graphics and pictures is a problem. I'd say this was one of the lower quality kindle experiences I've had.

Another great Lonely Planet guide.
Have lived in Queensland and this supplies comprehensive info on the best places to go and see, not always on the main tourist routes which is a big bonus.gave a a present for friends going to live

Duplicated Information, and Not as Rich a Resource
I bought this book to complement the Lonely Planet Australia Guide ( Lonely Planet Australia (Travel Guide) ($16.19). However, the information is pretty much the same in both books. I didn't find anything really new, or more detail on the attractions around Queensland in this book. To be honest, it seems like the Travel Guide had more information about Cairns. I would recommend you go ahead and spend the extra $3 on the bigger book. Even if you only use the Queensland part, at least you have the option to use rest. I decided to the return this book and spend the money on a map of Queensland to complement the travel guide.

Not as a kindle
The book itself is OK but does not work as a kindle, the maps are not visible and it is difficult to navigate

Just back from Oz and would recommend this book to everyone. We also had the Rough Guide (nice maps), but the Lonely Planet is well written with a wealth of engaging detail - more than any other guidebook I've seen. We spent a lot of time in the Daintree rainforest, saw plenty of wildlife but not the remarkable cassowary. Try Etty Beach, this book suggested, and there, as we approached the beach, were a mother and chick...

Really good holiday research. I bought a second hand 10 year old copy and it was still useful with great recommendations.
