70mm x 24mm Single Luggage Wheels Replacements Kit, Set of 2

Worked well to replace my suitcase's old wheels. Made it easy to keep using my old suitcase without issues on an international trip, and the wheels seem quite resilient.

I love the roller bag I’ve had for the past 25 years, but the wheels have been deteriorating recently. One split on my most recent trip. They had plastic axle bearings, surprising me they lasted that long. This kit was a perfect replacement set. I had to drill out the rivet in the original wheels, and these fit perfectly. The threaded hardware makes installation easy, and the steel bearings should outlast the bag.

I've bought these wheels 2 times now. I fixed my duffel bag wheels and now my Oakley carry on. The old rubber liner fell off and caused a loud noise going down the airport. I bought these wheels and replaced and work great. Really quiet and roll smooth and the wheel barrings spin smooth. For the money saved me on having to get a whole new baggage. I was this close to retiring my suitcase because the wheels sounded like a shopping cart with trust issues. Instead of buying new luggage, I gave it a wheel transplant with this OwnMy replacement kit — and wow, what a comeback story. The 70mm x 24mm wheels fit perfectly (after I actually measured… lesson learned). Installation took a bit of elbow grease getting the old wheels off, but once these were on, my suitcase was rolling smoother and quieter than ever. No more airport embarrassment squeaking through terminals. If your luggage sounds like it’s begging for mercy, this is a cheap and surprisingly satisfying fix. Just measure first, grab a tool, and prepare to feel like a DIY hero.

These suitcase wheels appear to be well made and worked when installed on my suitcase. The repair was much more difficult than I thought it would be. Using you tube videos I removed the plastic section housing the wheels from the suitcase. This part went rapidly using a phillips head screw driver and a drill to remove the 4 rivets connecting the plastic wheel housing to the suitcase. The next part of drilling out the rivet fastening the wheel to the housing also went rapidly, however the wheel would not release from the plastic housing. I next had to use a hack saw to saw the axle of the wheel to release the wheel. This took a while and I did ding up the plastic housing with the hacksaw. Once the wheels were removed I then measured the wheels and the dimensions and ordered the wheels I needed. This kit installed the wheels rapidly, however, it comes with no instructions. Then I used the phillips head screw driver to reinstall the screws connecting the plastic wheel housing to the suitcase. I checked to make sure the suitcase rolls easily. I now need to go get the #10 flathead machine screws , #10 flathead washer and 10_24 nylon lock nut to replace the rivets. This repair took me 2 hours. I recommend you first remove the plastic wheel housing before ordering the wheels to make sure you order the correct size.

Not much more needs to be said than what is in the headline. The product is well-priced, worked perfectly with my Samsonite luggage. I appreciated the extra hardware, and used the shorter bolt length with only one washer (instead of two). I imagine this will work with most Samsonite wheel luggage, though you do need to measure first, since wheels vary in size.

Travelpro said they do not make this large soft sided spinner suitcase anymore. I went to a local shoemaker and luggage repair store and they wanted $150.00 to change out the wheels. I saw on YouTube how to change the wheels. You have to hacksaw the metal bar that holds the wheels. Take good measurements before ordering the replacement wheels . Width opening and size of wheels. The set comes with everything you need to change the wheels. I had to open the opening where the bar goes into because mine was a little too tight. Travelpro suitcase comes with a little black cover to cover the screws but you can’t use them with these wheels because the little screw protrudes a little and the black cover won’t fit. It doesn’t bother me. When you put the bar through the wheel to the other side install the screw and use the little key that comes with the wheels. To tighten hold one key and tighten with the other key. Since I am replacing the wheels on a spinner , I ordered 2 sets so I had two keys. The bar comes comes in two length sizes. Overall I am happy that I can use the suitcase again. I keep the little keys in a plastic bag in the suitcase just in case the wheels get loose I have it handy.

These wheels seem to be very sturdy. I’ve seen very little wear in the 3 months I’ve been using them on my roller bag. As a pilot, my roller bag gets fairly heavy use.

It isn't perfect, but it's fit for purpose. There's a faint sound rolling these wheels on a Jansport driver 8. The screws that came in my package were shorter than I needed them, so I used the old screws.
