Does this bag fit a school folder? Will this backpack be appropriate for a 5 year old for school?

Is it a good size for a 5 year old going into kindergarten?

I use it in my classroom for my star student to take home for show and tell items. However, a lot of the bigger picture books and folders wouldn’t all fit. Teachers prefer a full size backpack.
