Marvelous nature book with Insight and sensitivity/ a continuation of Leopoldo Aldo's SAND COUNTY ALMANAC

Should be read by everyone. It will put your heart, mind and soul at rest. It takes you back 150 years to beautiful, almost devoid of human population, Argentina. You will feel like you are part of the beautiful plant and animal life. His most famous fiction book is "Green Mansions" which was made into a movie with Audrey Hepburn, but the movie did not come close to doing the novel justice (it would be almost impossible to bring the soulful feeling of the book to the screen). However this book, "Far Away and Long Ago", is the most famous of his non-fiction books. A great autobiography of his youth.

I can't recommend this highly enough. I have read many many memoirs, including classics, and this is one of the best. Incredibly evocative and beyond its time.
