The Brain-Bending Basics (Murderous Maths)

Our son loves the Murderous Maths series. These are British books that have been recombined for the US publication. Each US volume is equal to two books originally published in the UK. They are a bit snarky, but introduce lots of great math concepts. Our 9-year-old son loves these and rereads them quite often. Verdict still a little bit out. My 3rd grade son is a fantastic reader (he just read the Illiad!) and good at math, so I thought this would be a fun read for individual reading time... he also loves adventure and mystery, so I though this would fit the bill. Unfortunately the obscure references and British slang made this just a little hard to get into. It's on his bedstand so we will see if it gets another shot, but it is just not the magic pill it was made out to be by other reviews, sadly.

My kids love this whole series. This book has been no exception. They are 11 and 8.

Bought this for my 9 yr old grandson, don't think he liked it. He's maybe too young. He's good at Maths so thought he would be interested but sadly not !
