Does not disappoint, there's a reason why the military and police use Bates. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great so far! *by J***N on October 7, 2013* My old boots had the traditional idiotic flat soles that they seem to put on most work boots which are only comfortable for the 1/100 who walk flat-footed. The shaped heel on these makes them SO much more comfortable after a whole day walking around. The composite toe makes them lighter than the old, smaller boots that I had. Water-proofing seems effective. And there are a couple little things that have actually surprised me with how much difference they make: the little shaped ridges on back of heel help a LOT with holding doors and such, and the shape/material of the outsole is great when I am climbing around in ceiling spaces and on cubicle walls-they really seem to wrap around and grip well on whatever you are standing on. Also the selection of widths that Bates offers is exceptional, I was able to get these in a 4E which meant for the first time ever I have a boot that does not pinch the wide part of my foot out of the box.
