Fits my old cast iron tubs perfectly!
If you want to up grade or are tired of using a rubber stopper on your old cast iron tub. This is Heavy duty and well made. I purchased this for my antique claw foot tub. Originally I purchased a different size thinking that all tub drains were universal. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case for old cast iron tubs. Installed myself in 15 mins. The hardest part was removing the old drain. This is a great , easy upgrade.

Design superior to toe tap. Fine thread. Slightly smaller diameter than some.
Perfect fit. Slightly smaller than the other drain we bought, which did not fit, and fine thread, which we needed. Plus, simple and straightforward to operate, compared to the toe tap style, which did not work well for us. Nice finish, matches spigot. We have not tested it for retaining water, but so far so good. If i had to make one improvement, i would like to see a hair trap, but I'm not sure how that would work with this.

Slightly longer drain body 1 3/8" versus 1"
This replacement worked great. The 1 3/8 inch long drain body was required to reach the pipe underneath my tub. I looked at many drain replacements options that were only 1 inch long. These were all too short to work.

Had a different brand that went bad after only three years
Had a different brand that went bad after only three years. That one had some kind of spring activated pin to hold the stopper up but it quit working. Had to look around for this one because I needed the fine threads and that wasn't available at my local stores. This one is a better design that does not rely on springs or anything that can break. Should last indefinitely.

didn't work for me.
if you have a garbage disposal below the drain opening this won't fit. i found that the water wouldn't stay in the sink because the seal wasn't tight.
