6HB Barred Owl Box

This owl box is a nice owl box but, it is not what was advertised at all. The picture and description made it seem like the entire box was made out of cedar. Secondly the size of the box is not what was advertised. Actual size is 12.5x13.5x24 not 17.74x13.5x24 that was advertised. Very disappointing to open the package to find out it wasn’t what I thought I was getting.

Sturdy and very well built, appreciated including the wood shavings (also well packaged) as a bonus to place in the bottom of the box. The shipping was faster than expected -- extra kudos there! Would definitely buy their products again!

In the photo the house shown is cedar the one I received is plywood, and I was not sure if pressure treated? I covered the house with sheets of copper to make it last or else by the time an owl finds this house it would be in the process of decomposing.

This is a well made owl box. It took some creative thinking to figure out how to hang it as only one side of the frame is flush with the roof. We used heavy duty outdoor hinges - one each on top and bottom. At the recommendation of our tree trimming service, we used 3 inch exterior screws and it is sturdy. W also added a perch from an old branch.

Description makes it sound like it’s made of red western cedar I was disappointed when I opened it and found out it’s made of plywood and just the opening has a piece of cedar over it!

Looks great in the tree, waiting for our new guest to move in

This is an extremely well built product and will not disappoint.
