I ran across these looking for a replacement for all of the guylines on my tents, pop up rain flys, and other things as needed. A lot of manufacturers these days are using plastic tensioners, and over time they become brittle due to the elements and such. I am tired of tying a tautline in all of my lines, because if left a while, those can be a pain to try to un-tie. Since receiving these I have installed them on one tent (two of the larger guylines, and one pop up.They have performed great. When I first looked at these I thought against it thinking that "these are aluminum and they look like pop tops", but these are heavy duty aluminum and are very durable. I don't have a weight load limit on them, but they held my pack up (50 lbs). They slide very easy, but at the same time hold very well. It might have something to do with their shape. They are really easy to install. If you aren't sure you can look at the picture in the item description. The only knot that you need to know how to tie to install these is some kind of stopper knot (overhand, figure eight, etc.). The only negative thing I can think of is that they are slowly loosing their color where the rope rubs. Also, make sure you use these with a rope diameter that is large enough to allow these tensioners to bite down and grab. If you use something too small, it will just slip through and never hold.Overall this is a great item and it will come in handy many times. The other great thing is that these should last longer than me. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to replace worn or broken tensioners on any of their outdoor products, backpackers, outdoors enthusiasts, and anyone else that thinks these might be useful to have around.*I received this product at a discount for my fair and honest review.

We've been setting up for a yard sale and we needed something that would help us keep a shade over items we had on our driveway. Thor Outdoor's guyline tensioners were great for helping us hold up and adjust our cover!We have a large solar cover and no readily available trees, so we have to work with rope and anything else we can find. These tensioners made tying up our cover so quick and easy, since we didn't need to endlessly adjust before tying our ropes! We were easily able to slide these tensioners up and down as we needed and each one stayed in place when we let it go.For how small each of these tensioners are, they're each incredibly strong! They held their place through a rainstorm and the additional weight of standing water a few hours after we put our cover up. Not one of the eight aluminum tensioners bent or warped, and we were able to reuse them three days in a row with no sign of damage.Thor Outdoor has made a quality set of guyline tensioners that really helped us save our sale! I did receive these tensioners at a discount but price doesn't change how sturdy they are, nor does it effect my review.

This set of four tensioners is a great addition to any camping kit.They are lightweight and super strong, so they can handle the tension of taught guylines. These are the perfect addition to my camping/backpacking gear and are great for use around the house as well. With one child and another on the way, I'm always having to expand the carrying capacity of my backcountry pack by tying things to the outside of it. These tensioners are great for quickly and securely adding accessories to my pack. No more using bungee straps that lose their elasticity and don't always give me the tension I want. And no more tying secure knots that take forever to undue.They are also perfect for securing the rain fly on my tent - definitely better than the plastic tensioners the tent came with.Also, If you have strong, thin rope, as I do, these tensioners are also great for tying things down during a move, like when you have to strap a king size mattress to the top of your car.Overall, I'm am very pleased with these tensioners - they are light and durable, and even look good!Disclaimer: I received this product at a discount in exchange for my review.
