Such an underrated brand of paper! I’d definitely repurchase.
I don’t know why The Bee Paper Company doesn’t get a lot of recognition in the art world, because my experience so far in using it has been really excellent. I’m very impressed - and this is coming from someone who has tried out almost every kind of paper going. :) Most marker paper, both cheap and expensive is extremely thin and for me at least, that doesn’t make it nice enough to be used for final work, frameable pieces or for work that you intend to sell. This paper looks very professional and is very similar in appearance and weight to Strathmore’s Smooth Surface Bristol Paper (in the yellow pad) but for a lower cost. The color isn’t a pure, stark white. It does have an off white tinge but it’s not noticeable. I think it’s actually flattering. I don’t personally like white paper that leans more blue-white. I think that can look cheap and that is definitely not the case here. This is a good, sturdy paper; almost like card stock. It certainly feels like a good quality paper to me. I happened to purchase on this particular occasion, as I intended to be making my own planner inserts for my 6 ring binder. I found it goes through my regular inkjet printer without any problem and the ink doesn’t show through to the other side of the page at all. I love using notebooks to jot things down but hate that markers or highlighters can bleed through the page so easily but that’s not the case with this paper, thankfully. When applying moderate pressure with Copic markers, I discovered the ink barely bled through the page (I’m yet to find ones that’s completely bleedproof but hear Yupo paper is pretty great so I hope to try that out with my markers soon). If you were to actually hold a marker to the Bee Paper page in one position for a while, the ink would obviously penetrate through to the other side, no matter what, but even then, it’s minimal. Even Strathmore Bristol will have some bleeding. Just to add, when using pens (I tested both Sakura Micron pens and a regular ballpoint) and when using light, even strokes, there’s no feathering of the lines at all. I’m really impressed. I’d definitely repurchase this paper and keep an eye out for other Bee Paper Company products in the future.

Best Paper for Alcohol Based Markers & Pen/Ink art work
I have been 'in search' of the highest quality paper to use with pen and ink. Also, most sketch books/pads are 9X12 and this is 8.5/11. The two top papers are Neenah and Bee. I had Neenah and it's good (a bit cheaper as well) but it's not like Bee Paper. This paper is absolutely amazing. Alcohol based markers really don't bleed through and most importantly, it doesn't feather! I do intricate designs and prefer alcohol based markers (Copic, Chameleon, Spectrum Noir) and even the slightest feathering can ruin an entire art piece. I got the smallest size for in order to see if this was what I was looking for and it definitely is. If you are a colorist/artist that used pen/ink or alcohol based markers, this paper is a must have. I will be purchasing this from now on for my work. Also, please note that this is NOT a paid or free product for review.

Great paper for Copics
I use this paper with my copic markers, and it has exceeded my expectations by far. The paper is thick and very smooth, almost like a cardstock, but it doesn't suck up too much ink like most papers do with the copics. Colors go on smoothly and blending the markers is no problem. Pencil marks erase easily from it, too. The other GREAT thing about this paper is that you can use it in your inkjet printer. I draw the line art on a page and then put another piece of paper in my printer to copy the lineart on to. The inkjet ink doesn't smear and shows up perfectly on the paper. You wouldn't be able to tell original from copied. Overall, it's the best paper I've used for Copics, so far. I fully recommend!

The Only Kind I Use
It's the only kind of paper I use with markers. It's smooth, so the felt doesn't wear away, and the ink doesn't bleed through.

Its just ok
I am constantly hunting for the perfect marker paper. One that allows me to blend colors by not drying too fast and one that doesn't bleed through to the next page. I have both alcohol based and xylene base markers and tested them both with this paper. The paper feels nice and accepts marker well. But it soaks in the ink too fast making blending tough. I didn't have any problems with bleed though. And by bleed I mean the marker didn't get on the page below. You will however be able to see it on the backside of the paper you drew on. Is it the best marker paper? No. But its better than printer paper and stops bleed through.

calling all artists
My teenage artist has no problem investing in expensive art materials and it still blows my mind how expensive art materials can be. This is by far one of her most favorite choices to draw in because she likes to use heavy pens and markers for her sketchbooks. For me it is a little pricy and the quality is outstanding. I wouldn't normally spend this much just for paper but its highly durable and doesn't bleed through. So for all you serious artists who don't mind spending $12 on good quality paper this is your product. unfortunately it is quite difficult to find for a good price. Mahalo for stocking up this holiday season
