Originally released in 2007. Review: Fun memories - Pretty good nothing seemed good price I mean technically it's permanently incomplete but three seasons are good not the sellers fault blame the people that own the IP Review: More than meets expectations! - IMO this is the third best TF series after the original and Beast Wars. Yes, I rate this better than Prime. Every MC has a significant backstory with plenty of flashbacks that get teased at first but are fully explained throughout the series. Their backstories illustrate the consequences of their actions which brought together otherwise total strangers into events much grander than they could've imagined. The show is episodic but past arcs play heavily on future episodes. On second viewing you can notice foreshadowing that you probably wrote off as jokes on your first viewing. Many of the surprise twists will leave you staring in awe as you remember that there were clues scattered all over the place. The MCs have their typical weekly lesson here and there, but they don't automatically change abruptly. Making their eventual maturity and resolution all that much sweeter and feel earned. This version of Megatron is the most competent and intimidating I've ever seen. Sari is the most helpful and fleshed out human character I've seen in any TF property. Her childishness never gets as grating as most of the other TF kids. Even most of the side characters have distinct personalities. Don't let the animation style fool ya into thinking that its less mature. This is very much the same kind of writing and characterization as the original Teen Titans. You'll get colorful anime-ish action and young adult humor sure. But there are also moments of genuine emotion that will make you empathize with several of the characters. And there will definitely be many "hell yeah" moments for you.

Great series to own and watch!
Got this as a birthday gift for my husband because he used to watch this when he was little. As soon as we put in the DVD he was so excited and said the nostalgia was overwhelming. He said the animation quality was great and it felt like he was watching it like he would back in the day. Super excited to watch this with our son when he gets older before this series is hard to find on streaming services. So nice to own it!!

Finally! One of my favorite shows on DVD!
I love transformers animated, the characters, the plots, the humor. It had a sense of seriousness and taught good things, like leadership and other characters traits, all the while keeping up a humorous air. Captured the attention of both kids and adults in my family. We watched it for free on Tubi Tv for years. With adds of course. Now I get to watch it add free, whenever I want. That I can't trade for anything.

A fun new take on the transformer characters... if you can handle the new style
First, to clarify for those who aren’t aware of what this product is, this is the animated series that was released ---, not the 1984 cartoon. But what you get here is a six (6) disk DVD set with all three complete seasons of this fantastic show. The show I think, is a lot of fun. It is a very kid friendly show that at the same time doesn’t insult the intelligence of adult fans. Admittedly (especially for a longtime transformer fan like myself), some aspects are difficult to get used to, most notably the cartoonish look of the show. Other aspects, like the human protagonist (a young girl named Sari), and the fact that the Autobot characters often have to deal with human villians can also get annoying. But, if you can get over these things, this actually is a very solid transformer series. It focuses on 5 Autobot characters, who really are just down on their luck, but throughout the series you see them struggle, grow as characters and teammates, and ultimately change the outcome of the Autobot/Decepticon conflict. There’s a lot of depth put into this show, and a lot of heart. Even though the creators of this show choose to rewrite things, it’s quite clear they did their homework on what’s come before, since they make nods to just about every other transformer incarnation. Another oddity is that Optimus Prime isn’t the great hero we all are used to, he’s more like a starship captain in charge of a ragtag band of misfits who aren’t really warriors. However, the Decepticon characters are super powerful villains that often need to be outsmarted as opposed to overpowered. This show also brings us one of the best Megatrons’ in cartoon history. From my understanding, the series was slated for a 4 year run, but was cut short at the end of season 3. However, the finale of season 3 at least has tied up all the major story plot lines, and for the most part gives us a satisfying conclusion. As for this set, you get all 42 episodes of the series (including the previously unreleased 13 episodes that make up season 3). The packaging states there are audio commentaries, but I have yet to find any (maybe I missed them). Sadly, there is no closed captioning option. This set really seems to be a bare basic set. Closing thoughts: I think this really is a great set. If you’re looking for a transformers series for kids, I think this one is a winner. If you’re a fan of Transformers or cartoons in general, this might be great if you can get past the aforementioned art style and general kiddyness of this show. And for already existing fans of this show, this is the series, nothing more, nothing less. But at least you can pick up the show in it’s entirety in one fell swoop (like I did). The price also is decent, although I lucked out and got it on sale here at Amazon for 21.99. The only reasons this set doesn’t get 5 stars is a lack of closed captioning, and there not being much in the way of bonus content.

Still as great as I remember it!
I’m very big into the cartoon aesthetic because of this show that I watched as a child. It still lives up to how I remember it. Definitely a good idea to buy the whole series before it becomes lost media.
