So when I saw that the third book ‘Things We Never Said’ would be coming out soon I couldn’t resist and pre-ordered this book immediately. And I was so excited when the book was send to my kindle and I could start reading. In ‘Things We Never Said’ we follow the story of Dahlia and Michael. Dahlia has been living in Hartwell for nine year now, and she really likes her easy and silent life there. But when something happens to her father, she is forced to go back to the place she grew up and left in a hurry all those years ago. Dahlia hasn’t been back to Boston in years, and now she’s not only forced to deal with a lot of hard memories, but there’s also Michael. The guy she loved more than anything and who she hasn’t seen or talked to in years. Every time I’m reading a series that I really really love, I’m afraid the next book won’t be as good as the first one. Because well.. how can a book be as good as the one you loved so much?! But Samantha Young is always surprising me. I just loved ‘Things We Never Said’! From the moment I started reading I just couldn’t stop and I just never wanted this book to end. The two main characters Dahlia and Michael where so fun to read about. I just loved getting to know them. There was so much chemistry between Dahlia and Michael and I was rooting for them from the very beginning. I loved how this story was a second-change-love story and how we slowly found out more about Dahlia and Michael’s past. And it was also really fun to read a little about the previous characters in this series. Yes, ‘Things We Never Read’ was definitely another great read for me. And I can’t wait to read more books in this series. Review: beautiful and frustrating and angsty and I loved it. - Angst and heartache. Drama and suspense. Steam and longing. Slow burn and the most swoon-tastic hero... Things We Never Said HAD IT ALL. This book is a painstaking struggle. Chapter after chapter of push and pull, complicated emotions and gut wrenching despair layer this story that spans over a decade and it HURTS SO GOOD. It hurts to endure this devastating story, it's indescribably painful at times. But it's hauntingly romantic and so worth every bit of hardship in the end. There are scenes in this book that literally took my breath away and I can tell you that every single one had Michael Sullivan smack in the center. Sometimes his words, spoken in the throes of despair, are an unexpected punch to the gut. But other times, his declarations and his admissions are some of the most romantic lines I've ever read. This is a story of impossibility and complicated longing and it's beautiful and frustrating and angsty and I loved it. The Hart's Boardwalk series has been a bit bumpy for me as a reader but this book in particular is now a personal favorite. I enjoyed every bit of it and I honestly hope Samantha Young has more planned. Things We Never Said is so many things, a story of second chances, third chances, so many chances over the course of a decade, a romance ebbing and flowing until the pieces finally click at just the right time. It's painful and so sexy and so so good.

Hooked Me From The Start
Things We Never Said is the third book in The Hart’s Boardwalk series. I think you can enjoy this book on its own. Characters from the previous book do appear. This book almost didn’t happen or was going to be a very short story. I’m glad things worked out for us to get more full length novels in this series. Things We Never Said hooked me from the start. I devoured it. I felt all the feels. It took a different turn in the second half than what I was expecting. I still enjoyed the story. I think Samantha set things in motion for books to come. I am so looking forward to more.

Second chance worth fighting for
4-4.5 stars. Michael and Dahlia have a long history of being in love, but not actually being together. Dahlia now lives in Hartwell, Delaware, completely estranged from her whole family except her father. Michael had no idea of her whereabouts so when he runs into her, he is completely taken by surprise, mixed with anger. Dahlia has been in hiding for a long time. Too scared to go home and face the music with her family and Michael, she lives in isolation and guilt. The burdens are heavy on her shoulders but she doesn't know what else to do. Michael is now divorced and while his past with Dahlia is complicated, he certainly would like to try to move forward if that means confronting her, then so be it. Michael is not afraid of confrontation, unlike Dahlia. There was no doubt about they felt for one another, but with so many issues between them, they couldn't even begin to sort through their feelings when Dahlia had a huge mountain to climb first. I understood her fear, but I wished for her sake she didn't take so long to get to this point although I applaud her for finally doing so. In the process, Michael might have been the one abandoned by her, but he wasn't going to do the same to Dahlia and I admired his fight. Definitely ripe with angst and turbulence with a lot of tension and unresolved feelings amidst other drama, I loved all of that and look forward to the next book.

Just okay
This is a tough review for me because I love Samantha but this book was not so enjoyable..it had too many old characters from other books and new characters that I was fighting to keep ahold of who is who again. Excuse my French but what the h$!! Is wrong with dahlia. Her reason for staying away from Michael and her family became stupid and her continued justification for not being with him became annoying. Dhalia wasn't a likable heroine for me. I found myself skipping alot of the pages and I didn't miss the gist of the story so there were tons of fillers...tons and tons of them earning my three star rating. Overall, this was not Samantha's best work. Enough of this town and story surrounding this town pls.

So glad we're getting more Hart's Boardwalk
I have loved the Hart's Boardwalk series since the beginning and I was absolutely elated when Samantha Young announced that she was going to keep writing the series and self-publish it. There is something so magical and endearing about the town of Hartwell and it's inhabitants. I've been dying to know more about each of the characters and we finally get a chance to learn more about Dahlia and her love interest Michael. This book was exactly what I was hoping for and more. We got a great love story between Dahlia and Michael. The friendships between the people of Hartwell is one of my favorite parts of the series. I love that the women meet up all the time and I love how close Bailey and Dahlia are. This book also continued the mystery behind the dastardly Devlin clan. I need to know what they are up to and I need more information about Jack Devlin. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Second Chances
Things We Never Said is the third book in the Hart's Boardwalk series by Samantha Young. Dahlia McGuire is from Boston; her parents are Cian and Sorcha, he's a firefighter, and she's a nurse. Together they have five children. Darragh, Davina, Dahlia, Dermot, and Dillion. Darragh is a correspondent and sports writer, Davina is an Investment Banker, Dermot is a police officer, and Dahlia is an artist. She comes from a working-class Irish family, so attending college to study art was not her mother's idea of a responsible adult. When Dehlia was twenty years old, she wore a sheer body stocking for an art exhibition to earn money. There is where she met Michael Sullivan, Sully, a 23-year-old rookie cop who called her dahlin; he was a liner Irish rough who was best friends with Gary, her current boyfriend. However, she fell in love with Michael, but the timing was never right. Dahlia left home after her sister Dillion died from complications of an automobile accident, and she couldn't deal with the guilt. Hence, Dahlia started drinking, and things with her mother became unbearable. She moved to Hartwell and rented out her aunt's shop. Nine years later, her father called to tell her that he and her mother were getting divorced after 38 years of marriage.

Für mich das (bisher) beste Buch der Reihe... und eines der besten Bücher von S.Young überhaupt
For English Review pls. see below WOW! Wirklich! Wow! *** WOW! Really! It's hard to find the right words to describe this extraordinary book, that was really impossible to put down. And that was quite unexpected. But let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Samanthas stories, especially the "On Dublin Street" series and the Hartwell love stories as well, whom I've read in German. While looking for new stories by Samantha I've read "As dust dances" in English and was quite relieved that it was easy to follow for me (as a native German). That's why when this new book of the Hartwell series was announced (that I was awaiting so desperately), and Samantha was clever enough to provide some teasers on her Instagram, I was curious to say the least. Because I found out that this third book would not be about Emery (my expectation), but Dahlia, who we learnt in the second part of the series, was confronted with a ghost from her past. So because there was no German publication in sight, I decided I could not/would not want to wait any longer and bought the English version. I was rewarded with an emotional rollercoaster of feelings, really sympathized with Dahlia and Michael and rooted for them all the time when everything seemed hopeless. SY describes almost a decade of their story by using flashbacks, and oh my, what stroke of fate and adversities were in their way. During the story they got really close to my heart and I was quite sad when the book ended, feeling as having to say goodbye to very dear friends. Of course there will be a reunion with Bailey, Vaughn, Jessica, Cooper, Emery and the inevitable Devlins, that of course are here for some trouble and guarantee for a mean cliffhanger at the end. That's why I am more than curious how long Sam will have us wait for the next book - Emerys Story - hoping it won't be this long again. "Things we never said" was totally worth the wait, my favourite of the series so far and in my option one of her best books yet. I am sure, when the next book is published, I am starting the Hartwell series all over again because I really love this series. I can just highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good love story and review it with 5 well deserved stars.

Perfection
Erin first got the ARC for The One Real Thing back when was doing the blogging thing on her own a few years ago. She gave me it immediately when she finished because she knew I’d love it and I fell IN LOVE! There’s just something about Hartwell and the people that live there that calls to me. I love it. I loved Every Little Thing even more, the enemies to lovers angst of Vaughn and Bailey was everything I love in a book. I recently re-read The Things We Never Said before The Truest Thing comes out in 3 days and I fell in love with this book and these characters all over again. Dahlia Maguire is the local silversmith who owns the gift shop in Hartwell. While she loves her live in Hartwell she’s definitely hiding, from her family, her past and the love of her life Michael Sullivan. When her father needs her she heads back to her native Boston and is forced to face the demons that kept her hiding out in Hartwell for so long. The angst had me hooked on this book. There were a few flashbacks in this book which usually I’m not a big fan of but they were short, relevant and gave you much needed insight into the plot. The ending was perfect and it was a perfect set up for book 4.

Prepare Your Hearts & Bring On The Feels!!
(ARC provided by author) 4.5/5⭐️ This book was highly anticipated on my end, and I’m so glad to jump back into Hart’s Boardwalk series. Dahlia has always been a mystery for me and I’m happy we find out her story. This book was heartbreaking, steamy and an overall an emotional rollercoaster, I could not put it down in the early hours of the morning. I was so hooked from the start. I found Dahlia’s and Michael’s background had so much depth and tension between everyone involved, it was a very dramatic web of connections and l enjoyed it. Definitely looking forward to the continuation of this series, and hoping in the future to get Emery’s story. ❤️
