Q: How do you open the dispenser to refill it?

The top does not unscrew. It snaps off. Grasp each end horizontally and push down on the cover part like you are breaking it off. Remove used up container and put in new one. Snap cover back on. This is the absolute best face cream i have ever used.

Q: Is this the "real" stuff? I'm suspicious when price is so low compared to retail.

Beware - Mindful Minerals discontinued the refill bottle back in May of 2016. I opened the refill bottle portion of my purchase and the top of the white cream was black, like mold. There was no traceability on the bottle. Look on the suppliers' website to make sure they are selling it before you buy anything here on Amazon, especially something perishable!
